Is there a Child Cap/Limit?

I have seen 18 children for one person, so I don't think there is a cap beyond natural limits.

I do know that the recent patch notes include a point where the child chances are reduced or something, but I don't know if there's a hard cap.
I had 11 with my last ruler but they seem really rare after 9. Seems like they pop out real quick and then once you get to nine, it's really rare. And then again, I only had two more born after two of my kids died.
there isnt a hard limit. however, the most recent patch severly reduced children(so lords without heirs or with female heirs are MUCH more common). also, do note that women past their 45 CANT have children.

I... always found this, even before the latest patch. I could only seem to reach 10 living kids. If some died I could make some more.

Nubile concubines seem to get pregnant quickly regardless of any other factor.

There were however never more than nine or ten alive at a time. Something I didn't notice till brought up here.

If there is a hard cap for LIVING children, is it a programing consideration (too many calculations/cycle)? Because it does not make any sense that my chance of having children goes up if, specifically, my ninth living child dies.
I got 10 in my current game, but my last two were a set of twins. So that might just be random chance. But I'm happy, with 5 sons Succession is going to be fun.

Most I ever had as a Christian was 22 living children in 1.092, but that was a ruler designed lustful hedonist with 200% base fertility matched up with lustful hedonist wives that would be replaced every 10 years. This patch I haven't tried doing that again, I should see what results I get this time.
Nothing hard, but I strongly suspect there are hidden fertility soft limits based on the parents number of children.
Just make a ruler-designed hyper-fertile guy with 20 daughters, marry Mathilda, and see her never get pregnant.
My evidence is entirely circumstantial, but I have 4-digit-hours played worth of circumstantial evidence. Once you have more than double digit kids, it seems to appear that your odds for more are quite low.

Everyone dreams of being Walder Frey at some point. (Although didn't he "only" get to 89 before the books ended?)
I do wonder what the newest patch says about this. I do think that I have never seen my character have more than 9 children who are alive. If one dies then suddenly wife gets pregnant. Besides that, the court limit is rather annoying at times. But really the biggest thing is, whether or not this 9 children limit can be removed, because even though 9 is quite a lot, then it seems rather counterintuitive when suddenly characters simply do not give any more children, like I would have been castrated or smh
Is that for the upcoming patch? Or a previous one?
Also, will the Options introduced in the coming patch allow for modifications, either upward or downward, to fertility?
This reminds me of the Game of Thrones mod. I started it the other day & saw that Walder Frey starts with like 30 children or something hahaha. Made me laugh so hard....
