Is the Pacific Theater going to be fixed in this patch?

I fear PI may kinda just glance over patch questions in the other thread so I'll ask here. Is the Pacific Theater going to be fixed up in the upcoming patch? Japan/US island hopping and Japan/US naval battles etc?

i think its going to take nothing short of a major expansion to fix the pacific war. But i doubt its going to happen. i'd love to be surprised with the opposite, but paradox has a bad track record with the pacific war which was never satisfying in hoi3 even though all expos up to TFH made the land wars pretty good

When asking questions like this it needs to be phrased right. Will the pacific theater be "fixed". Fixed will mean many different things to different people.
What we are doing (and said we would do) for 1.3:
- improve island hopping campaign ai and invasions overall so we get more interesting battles between japan and usa
- improve fleet support and management to support the above

What we wont have time to do for 1.3 patch
- get japanese vs china balance perfectly historical (this is probably impossible although things can get Good Enough(tm) for most gamers for sure)

So we are going to get mechanics to help us make better naval invasions?

When i try to make more than a few naval invasions the arrows start to become total chaos. Also it can take quite some time to prepare everything. (In fact for me is the biggest trouble when making naval invasions on the pacific, the sheer amount of docks to invade and defend make you lose too much time to achieve very little).

Also the one invasion per dock make little sense gameplay wise and just increase the micro. Specially because i can make onde single big naval invasion from a single port. (So i can send 10 divisions to one place but i can´t send 2 divisions to two different places? o_O ).

I would love to be able to click on the dock i wish to launch the invasion and start clicking the docks i want to be invaded. (More or less like the paratroopers work).

Yeah I thought "Torch" was a pretty appropriate name for a patch focused on invasions. Maybe Husky or Overlord, but theyre probably saving those for later :)

You can invade 10 different targets from the same port as long as all targets are adjacent to the same final sea province so they sail in a convoy together.

It make sense to have a limit of a single invasion per port to prevent you from exploiting the preperation time and make 10 single division invasions that finish planning in 7 days instead of 70.

yeah, im talking about invading multiple places not adjacent to each other.

I can still do what you said below making single division invasions targeting the same place or multiple places. The only difference is that today i have to use one port for each one division squad.

The problem is that i'm forced to use 10 different ports, having to make 10 different arrows. I will achieve the same result you're saying above, just gonna take a lot of micro.

If the objective is to avoid exploit of preparation time im sorry. not only it does not work but also increase the player job.

I'm not worried about Japan/China at all. I may be in minority in that regard, but what I really cared about is exactly what you posted, and I am thrilled to hear you're putting effort into that. Thanks podcat. Knowing that makes me a feel a ton better about "paid features". I really, really missed having pacific naval battles. It just didn't feel like World War 2 when Japan has a Navy on par with Canada, not a single major Navy clash in the Pacific in my games, and Japan put's it's entire focus on the land war. I'm not sure how this will turn out, but my hopes are really high. I've been in wait mode on this game for a long, long time.
