I've gone through the second part with the encrypted communication and I've tried several variatons of it (other than try to haggle at the start) and I keep getting the fail message with 'that's unfortunate' every time, either the encrypted or the diplo window (minus the portrait for some reason.

So, has anybody actually gotten it to work?

I don't know what you're talking about...
I encountered them tonight for the first time, they asked me to settle on one of the planets in my space, I allowed them, and they are growing happily there...

I meant the trade one where they give you a bunch of ships, it just kind of fails for no obvious reason. I thought maybe I had to actually gift them 1000 EC because the 1000 the faction asked for was never actually given I don't think..... but guess what, you can't do that.

I have had it work successfully on the current patch. Ended up with a 7.k stack of cruisers, when my existing fleet was only 3k. Resulted in me going negative in Energy, till I shuffled things around to get back into the black.

The responses as written don't seem to match up with the script (or whatever it is). I reloaded from just before and did some trial and error. The one that worked was some kind of haggling and then I believe I declined to buy them because I didn't have enough resources (something like that, it was a while ago).

I have played at least 10ish games since the Asmiov and have never seen them. Not sure if that is just bad RNG or if they are bugged. I have heard other people say they have pathing problems, but I have never even encountered them.

They're broken for me too. Showed up in really early in the game (soon after second colony) in to my first colony system with 3.6k fleet. Been there now almost 300 years as unidentified empire, zero contact or anything and I can't do anything to them either. :p

In my game the nomads don't ever move unless attacked. They just sit in one system as an unidentified empire forever. I end up just killing them all.

I have just fixed small portion of nomads quest (if you choose redirect ships for 1000 energy, none ships are arrived) in Kennedy 1.4.1 (1759)
