I am new to CK2 and i am currently play as England in the 1066 start and i was just wondering what happens as king of England if i hold all the land in my kingdom. I know that there is a penalty of your vassals not liking you for anything over 2 duchies but to my understanding it wont matter if I own all the duchies. Am i right in this or have got it completely wrong

You'll still have vassals in the form of earls, barons, mayors, and bishops.

Unless you hold all the titles and watch your kingdom burn because your demesne is too large.

If you're the only one ruling the holdings, it'll still cause troubles.
There are events that will fire when you hold too many demenses. Like +10% revolt risk on a province because your steward can't handle that many lands.

Besides, your kingdom will be weaker than the rest of the world a couple decades later.

Just so people are aware, in the defines.lua file there is a place to change this. Open it up and search for MAX_DUCHIES_LEGALLY_HELD. Change it to whatever you like.

You necromanced an 8 month thread tho; that option was added afterwards and did not exist at the time of the original discussion ;)

Still, thank you.
