is the manuel worth reading?

I am so excited getting this game and I want to start right away...

after reading so much in this forum i feel like right going of and start the game.

So I like to ask you happy guys already playing this juwel is it important to play the tutorials (how long does this take?) and is the manuel worth reading? Important informations inside which i need to know to play right of the box... or is it like EU2?

I have the feeling it might be shipped today.....

My advice:

Read the manual when you have some free time and nothing better to do. Didn't help me all that much.

Go through the tutorials.

Then play as an easy country, and get a feel for the real game.

Come to the forums and ask questions (or look to see if they've already been answered) to get an even better feeling of what's going on.

Its toilet-seat quality.

Its worth going through after you've played the game (you'll have a bunch of 'Ohh...that's why X happens like X'), but, for me, there was little point in going through it before I played the game.

KBO it looks like your sig is a bit out of date.

The manual is mainly useful to learn the nuances of combat, IMO.

heh, another Chicagoan. Toilet seat quality manual? That doesn't sound very promising...... almost sounds like the Eu1 and Eu2 manuals. So basically it sounds like you can figure the game out enough on your own? i don't have it yet so I'm curious as well.

I'd actually rate the HOI manual below the EU/2 manual... there's really just not all that much information that helps you learn the game...

I really do need to update my profile, mainly because I have HoI and I no longer live in Chicago.

Anyhoo, 'toilet material' is decent stuff for me. SI's swimsuit stays there, as does ESPN or Sports Illustrated, as does the HoI manual; its all stuff that I'm interested in and like looking at, but none of its particularly important or helpful!
