All previous Paradox games I've bought needed at least 6 (preferably 12+) months of patches before they were playable to a reasonable extent (balancing, bugs, multiplayer issues). Is EUIII realy any different? Is it playable in MP?

Or put simpler: should I buy the game now at full price or wait a year or so and buy it in the bargain bins?

Considering you did not file a SINGLE bug and obviously thought the game was bugfree since you joined the betagroup in early may 2006 until removed for inactivity in September 2006...

I dunno.. nice attempt at trolling ?

Point was that such conquest from minors was trivial in EU2 too, but you now have to be considerably more careful in war; Certainly doesn't feel easier for me in EU3. in EU2 being outnumbered 10:1 in a war against the AI while being a CRT or two behind wasn't really cause for concern once you had a bit of defensive depth; in EU3, it is.

Even something as low as a minor tech advantage and 3:1 odds in the AIs favour means I have to actually work for my victory more often than not (unless I have a shock superleader in which case it is steamrolling time). I still win when I make the effort, of course, regardless of nation played, but it is harder than it was in EU2 since I cannot allow myself the same amount of silliness in the conquests and still expect to be succesful.

I don't know whether it's because the AI is better though, or if it's the new gameplay which favours the AI. Now it's much harder to kill regiments if fighting a deep country, which means I have a much harder time to outclass the AI in war economy once it has bought its regiments; the race moves onto lost manpower and sieged provinces instead. I cannot influence my total manpower in the same way I can influence my total economy, thus I don't get as much of an advantage in the long run on a per-province basis.

Some of the things which currently allows me to steamroll the EU3 AI are easily fixable for the next patch admittedly. Eg. cavalry superiority - it needs to be toned down and AI needs to use it. AI should stop pointless attacks if conditions became different (enemy reinforced target province). AI should retreat from battles if it's totally losing, etc.
