Is the AI really turned off after 1950? I remember playing a game for way longer than that and the AI was still going strong. (Well, as strong as it can...)

I'm asking because of this post:
1950 is after the date that the game AI turns off ... are you using a mod to extend that? If so, you'll need to contact the author of that mod.

@AndrewT: Maybe I'm just misunderstanding that post though? (I didn't want to ask there, since it doesn't have to do with that thread's topic.)

My last game i was doing a WC as the US and the AI kept functioning all the way to 1970, so it might be a specific part of the AI that turns off.

By the way, turn up Germany, Italy, and russia, turn off historical AI, and conquer all of the Americas and the pacific before attacking europe/asia. It's awesome.

As a tangent to late-late games like this, who would like to see repeatable techs at the end of the tree so our research doesn't just stop. Like in Stellaris, have incremental improvement techs for inf, tanks, fighters, bombers, cap ships, escorts and the like. Even if they were just 2% improvements to the relative categories.

If you use the Expert AI mod, there is an addon that extends the technology into the 1950s. 10/10 would recommend

It would be nice to see a cold war expansion in the future, but it might be impossible due to stuff like money and social problems not being modelled. Also there is no incentive for the ai to disarm.

Also You can drop literally 60 nukes on a country, march in, occupy, and be able to use those territories at full capacity inside 2 months.

Yeah, nukes need to do 'permanent' damage to buildings, factories and infrastructure like in DH. A 'radiated' modifier would be cool too, say with a malus to monthly population growth and a 5-10% attrition modifier for troops passing through,
