Is the AI abandoning near-complete sieges more frequently in 1.33?

In my latest war, ally France has been abandoning its sieges in Aragon when they are almost done, even though there are no enemy stacks anywhere nearby. I don't believe I've see it happen this frequently before. I'm wondering if this has to do with the way that calculations for war AI have been rebalanced.

Have other people been seeing similar things?

I suspect this has to do with the fact that the AI is now more cautious about engaging enemy stacks.

We know from previous patches that the AI is more likely to attack an enemy besieging stack when that stack is close to finishing its siege.

Maybe the war AI should be adjusted so that besieging stacks are more likely to hold their ground against a stack of comparable power when the siege has made major progress. Otherwise besieging stacks will just keep reacting whenever a peer enemy stack approaches them and throw away all of their progress as a result.

I noticed it too. And also I often saw now also that for example my 40k stack was besieging, got attacked by a 45k stack and my ally stands next to the siege with a 40k stack and does not join my battle with the result that I lose when it would have been an easy victory if he would have joined

Yes, and it turned my Karabakh starts from reliably successful to completely insufferable. The new AI is somehow great as an enemy and completely useless as an ally, the latter mostly thanks to this siege aversive behavior, which also seems to cause their new complete disregard for player directions.

Yeah just lost a war to France as Burgundy with both Austria and Castille as allies. Castille was locked in by a fort and every time they tried to siege it they were chased away by a small french army 1/3 of their size. I am all for making the ai try to fight smarter but it seems it could use some tweeking.
