I usually play with RNW when I play an Asian nation. The continents and trade might be much better that way, and spawning colonialism in Asia is the best :)

You continue your save game with RNW world. You do something incredibly stupid and want to reload your last autosave. Have fun quitting the game and enjoy the additional loading screen.

Well this is just wrong, I not only can load RNW saves perfectly fine I can also do it in multiplayer WITH custom nations. Never experienced any problems and I have a mid-upper range system. The friend I play with has a much better PC than I do and he also has 0 problems other than desyncs that happen once in an 8 hour play session.

What also could be improved, especially for MP:

Fantasy Empires should get bettter Ideas. More often then not, they don't have any military ideas, maybe some +% FL thrown in.

So they gobble up their neighbors in the RNW, appear big on the map, but if you fight them they have nothing against you.

In MP you always take 4 Military Ideas, and often enough you have your National Ideas. In Europe atleast you have Nations like France, Spain or Ottomans who even as an AI can be at least a bit challenging.

With the institution system and the development cap set for AI RNW nations will never compete with Europe ever again. They have now made it a bad thing to be western in the RNW because you don't get the tech boost you get from reforming instantly.

I enjoy the RNW to the point where I use it nearly exclusively (alongside @Elzephor 's RNW improvements mod), but the one other guy I know IrL who plays a lot of EUIV doesn't.

Less territory is not always as clear as it can seem. The RNW has province sizes that are more akin to the old world (ie around 900 pixels per province in the province source map if we want to get technical) which means it often uses as many if not more provinces than the non-random New World. We had to add a lot more provinces to make the RNW work than the 600 or so that the New World has in the historical setup (number is from memory so it's not exact but it should be around that ballpark).
That said number of provinces is not necessarily what someone would mean by a larger or smaller continent but it's something that can be useful to know I'd say :) And by all means it _is_ quite possible to get a smaller new world as well.

When I say larger, I mean that it:
1. Takes up more in game space (I.e. has more pixels)
2. Has a more distict "places" (which means ideally more large continent-y tiles with features like a Mediterranean or Caribbean, Distinct west and East coasts, multiple larger land regions etc.)
3. Stretches from one edge (ideally north) to at least the equator and ideally more. (I.e. it creates an effective barrier between western Europe and eastern Asia, in a manner similar to the Real Life New World.).

Other people might mean different things though.

Personaly I like it both as a concept and practical implementation, yet very rarely play with it, because I like to have some sense of fake realism in my games and playing a game where the New World is completely fictional kinda ruins that.
