I have to ask this because for the last while it seems little love is comming out of the games you guys are producing. Nearly every game produced these days has a good handful of bugs or game play mechanics that feel incomplete. Then you guys finish a patch and call it an expansion and charge as much as you are selling the base game for. Then soon after you sell every game you guys made for 100 bucks on steam to earn some quick cash.
Its always saddens me to see video game companys with the assets and potential to make great and fun games but instead only sees the $ at the end of the day.
Thanks for the feedback. Paradox is not running out of money, quite the opposite actually with our Gross Revenue for the company up over 2000% between 2003 and 2011, with a 100% increase between 2010 and 2011 alone. We have out firsr million seller (Magicka) released 2011 and several other titles from the publishing team, including Mount & Blade series, Cities in Motiion, King Arthur and Sword of the Stars receiving not only praise by the gaming community but also being financially sound projects.
I can agree with you we have released some games that should have been less buggy on release and that should have gone through QA more times before being shipped out the door. We are learning more with every release as our Producer team grows and we grow our relationship with our developers over time. I hope you will see an improvement in the latest releases as well as our upcoming titles.
We are doing a special deal with Steam this week since we couldn't do the "Paradox Week" we did with other portals in July (the timing interfered with their summer sale), so this is a postponed "Paradox Week", and bundling the whole portfolio of games for $100 for a limited period time is something we see as a great deal for any gamer.
We always appreciate feedback; welcome to our forum! I hope we can surprise you with some great quality games in the near future.
Best
Fred
