As a happy subscriber to you on Youtube, I wouldn't mind seeing a livestream every once in a while. Just make sure to upload them to Youtube afterwords.

also, does he have a base of people to stream for? If not, why stream at all? If only one or two people are watching at most, why bother doing the stream step instead of just playing it normally?

Yes it would all get posted to youtube after so that everybody can see it. After all, only a fraction would be able to attend the stream.
Been gaming full time for 2 months now, so I am starting to feel the need to interact more. Even with only a few people it's a nice change of pace.
The extra work is limited to chopping up the stream video into chunks, so it's not really much of a burden.
As others have said, you should stream because you're recording for youtube anyway so it's a 2for1!
Off topic: I've totally missed your channel, I've been looking for another EU4 let's player that seems to know what he's doing! I like watching other people play but I have to feel like they are better than me so I might learn something new, subbed!

Arumba/Quill/Northernlion/Mathas have a good MP format going, though I don't watch livestreams as a (location-imposed) rule (I'm not even sure if those guys livestream theirs). If you're recording for YouTube, do it, but I generally am less likely to watch someone playing singleplayer. Your videos are good though from what I've seen of them - but be aware you won't necessarily have heaps of people watching simply because of the game's small Twitch audience. Even DDRJake only seems to get a couple of hundred, max.

Going through all the comments here I think I will go ahead and set it up. Probably an achievement run of some sorts for a friday night game. Airtime around midnight CET, 6PM EST, 3PM PST with a lenght of about 2½ hours.
