Before paradox relased this expansion my bios settings crashed so this event spared me from buying this expansion back in day and I was planning to purchase it now if expansion has better opinion now but reviews at steam still claims its terrible idea
so I wanted to see forums to see if there are problems or not :D

I am asking the same question to myself right now. I own all DLCs and Immersion packs so far, except for Origins. This is the first EU4 release in years, which I didn't buy on day1, because of the Leviathan disaster. I think the accompanying 1.32 patch was way more impactful than the actual Immersion Pack. Origins seems completely optional: If you don't actually intend to play a sub-saharan African nation, you can easily skip the purchase. Even for an achievement hunter like me, it is not really necessary, because 15 out of the 16 new achievements can be done without Origins (only the Jewish achievement needs the DLC), so I delay the purchase of Origins to a point in the future when I actually play in Africa...

I literally had to check my own comment again to see if I accidently wrote "origins" instead of "leviathan" lol :D

Ooops, I obviously thought you meant Origins ;)

Leviathan has pretty much fixed its bugs (same for Origins, mostly), and unlike Origins, it offers some gameplay mechanics that you want to use in every single game: Monuments and currying favours; although pillaging capitals and concentrate development are heavily nerfed now, so not sure if it's a must-have

Favors rework is basically press button 1 for free cash, press button 2 for free manpower. Use the console instead, youre not missing out on much. Monuments are really expensive, a third of them are useless and another third are locked behind one of these religions: christianity, islam and vajrayana, mahayana and theravada.

OK so this is my stance regarding Leviathan.

I personally own it, even though it's not a must have DLC. Features like :

Favors may come handy. Example, if you are allied with a nation and that nation has an ally that is your rival or you desire their land, you'll probably want to break their alliance so you can avoid losing ally and getting yourself in unnecessary war.

Monuments. Now this feature is fun at least for me. I'm glad that Monuments aren't just cosmetic any more but have actuall purpose.

Next one regards playing tall so I'll start with Concentrate development. In my opinion it was totally unnecessary feature. It is fun to use CD on territories, lower their cost and core them. This is followed by Pillage capital. Now this one i actually like since these things did happen. Like Venitians pillaging Constantinople from 1204 and so on. Expand infrastructure, it's cool I guess. You can basically build multiple manufacturies as long as you EI. And last one is Centralize state. Lowering the cost of state doesn't make much difference.

New missions and events added to SEA are fun I guess and it was the main thing why I buyed Leviathan.

There are more things about Leviathan but I'll skip that and ask simple question is Leviathan worth for you 20 EUR? If you plan to play in SEA, NA or Pacific it may be. Or perhaps you want to get it on discount. On the other hand we all know how Leviathan launched and reviews on Steam. I really can't say to you "Hey you should definitely get that DLC". Also most of the issues Leviathan had, bugs and glitches, are fixed in later patches and some of the new features were reworked as part of 1.32.

In the end it's really up to you.

Personally, I couldn't imagine my campaigns without monuments anymore, so, for me, it's a must have DLC.
But seeing that Christmas is coming, it might be a good idea to just get it on the Winter Holiday sale.

Depends how you play. If you enjoy the part of the game after you have more money than you really need, monuments add a lot. They give you a reason to conquer certain places, a sink for all that money other than “even more manufacturies” and some interesting bonuses that are fun to play around with. The caveat is that they’re priced too high to be worth it in the part of the game most people spend the most time playing.

If this fits the way you enjoy the game it’s worth it for sure. Otherwise, buy it for south east Asia content or not at all.

Favours are great. A must have? For me, yes. Small nations can get big allies to join them in offensive wars much faster and more reliably now.
Monuments are good. A must have? For me, no. They add a range of benefits and just like a set of ideas within one group, some are terrible but some are really good.
Pillage and concentrate development are right next to useless.

I'd say so, the monuments are a really unique addition. I was super critical of the DLC on launch, but they've impressively turned it around to the point I can consciously recommend it.
