PI has added nice new features in every extension and also improved gameplay and balancing a lot. So, if it does not cost a fortune, I would recommend to go for the latest extension (TFH) or at least FtM.

The "Semper Fi" expansion fixed a number of serious bugs and problems with the base game. I'd call that one and the official patches for it "essential", since the basic game was seriously "broken". "For the Motherland" added a few nice tweaks and features, and fixed a few more problems, but I was not happy with how it altered basic gameplay, putting a lot of it "on rails". "Their Finest Hour" definitely gives more than it takes away, but again gets even further from the original concept.

I probably enjoyed the Semper Fi expansion more than the others, but it would be difficult to give up the added features now that I've gotten used to them. Since you need each of the previous expansions to load the later ones, it's not an option to "just" buy TFH, although you can probably pick up the fully expanded game for not much more than the cost of a single expansion by this point. As for other DLC, such as sprite packs, music, etc., I don't use sprites, and some of the DLC apparently won't run on TFH anyway.

Hello guys, simply questions. Is it worth of buying any of the DLC? (SF/motherland/TFH) Did they add something really good/special/awesome/useful to any of the DLCs?
Yes, IMO all expansions make this game much better. For example TFH introduces another layer of strategy with the armor vs. piercing mechanic.

If I remember correctly, the pacific war was more or less broken and even didn't happen before TFH so if you're interested to play in this theater you might want to grab it.

As others have remarked, some of the DLC contains essential bug-fixes. Whether those fixes should have been patches as compared to DLC is debatable, but whether you need them to get the most out of HOI3 is not. You do.

Yes, those vanilla theaters made me crazy.

Complete DLCs make game playable.
However you must remember that this game (and its final DLC - TFH) is ditched. Left with many annoying bugs and issues and there is no single gilmmer of hope for having them fixed.
So if you ask me - I wouldn't buy this game and its expansions today.
