Is it worth founding the Holy Roman Empire?

I have the option to form both the HRE and the Austrian Empire. I'm wondering if there is a reason I should form the HRE - Wouldn't the Austiran Empire be just as good?

If they're both the same - Can someone tell me how to see the HrE in the title screen? It isn't formed yet, so I'm not sure how to view it - I'd like to see what one has a nicer CoA.

HRE gets some of the reform the Roman Empire stuff. Which is cool if you wanna go for that.

HRE is also the only way to get the Crowned by Pope Trait.

Also if you pull it off the Carolingian way you get Italy easily and then the Italian culture has some of the best Retinue units in Vanilla, not sure if it's the same here. That's something I never looked into.

The HRE has a few special mechanics - the possibility of reforming the Roman Empire, realigning the de jure kingdoms to de jure archduchies, things like that. I'm probably forgetting one thing or another, it's been a long time since those were put in.

Also, you can search for (most) titles that have not been formed using the Find Titles search button (next to Find Characters on the toolbar below the minimap). I just checked, and you can see the HRE's CoA that way.
