Is it still Pacifism if I declare war on the entire galaxy?

I'm currently playing a game as pacifists with a pretty strong military advantage against my neighbours, whose general government styles and political attitudes lead me to believe they intend to engage in a lot of warmongering in the long run. Some of them also oppose my pacifist policies in the Galactic Community.
It seemed fairly obvious, then, that I should declare Ideology wars against my neighbours, to force everyone else to become Pacifists. However, around the point where I reasoned that blowing up an enemy colony ship would lead to less war in the long run, I began to wonder if I have, in fact, abandoned the Pacifist ideology my empire still technically follows.

What do you think? Am I technically still a Pacifist, or have I simply broken the game?

Technically, yes. You're a Pacifist, but not a Fanatic about it. Definitely haven't broken the game.

where I reasoned that blowing up an enemy colony ship would lead to less war in the long run,
It is for the greater good.

Don't forget to install police stations, psi corps and black sites near all your colonies - to prevent violent crime, before it's even happened.

Also be sure to become dictator for life, political discourse naturally leads to disagreements - which, as we all know, are really a form of verbal warfare - something incompatible with our humble, pacifistic, ways.

A one party, pan galactic, police/surveillance state is the only way to keep everyone safe, prevent violence, and ensure peaceful prosperity for all.

The only way to be true pacifist is to end all threats and disagreements

why would those pesky xenos want to colonise other planets anyway? most probably because they ruined their homeworlds because they couldn't control their breeding impulses

so you're simply saving other planets from being turned into poorly managed AI sh*#%^~

besides that, even becoming the crisis and blowing the whole galaxy up would be pacifist and even egalitarian as it would end the enslavement of all living beings by the divine non-matter beings! the vultaum were right all along

It reminds me on the perfect designed moon system and its digsite. According to the stiry it was the home system of the pacifist fe. The xenophobic fe became scared about their pacifist ways and killed them all easily as they had no weapons to defend.
So - if u as pacifist dont want to end like the pacifist fe, which we never have the chance to meet alive, then u have no other choice than war.

The Pacifist ideology in Stellaris could be interpreted as either 'That's just, like, your opinion man' hippies, 'Leave us alone please' isolationists, or 'Stop killing each other before I kill you' peace enforcers, one of which definitely fits what you're trying to lay down.

'Stop killing each other before I kill you' peace enforcers
It should be:
'Stop killing each other or I will trach You how, but it will be a hard way' peace enforcers
