Is it possible to play EEP online? I tried what it says on the FAQ but it said my version differs from the hosts when we tried to start an EEP game.

You need the exact same setup on all computers. It is possible when you have that.

From the FAQ:

Q: Does the EEP work for MP? Whenever our host attempts to select a scenario, it crashes to the desktop. Help?
A: Because of a flaw in the way the moddir works (which keeps your original files from being touched), you will need to copy all of the .eug files from the EEP\scenarios folder into the standard scenarios folder. Unfortunately, the same thing must be done for any save files, so it’s not just a one click thing when using the EEP for multiplayer. Don’t let this discourage you of course.
