Is it possible to colonise Eire?

Without mods there are no tribes or cultures in any scenario. But the island itself is. Is it there just because it would be strange to not have it and as a modders' resourse ? Or you actually can get there somehow? Unless you can colonise across the water I don't see the way. I've got to Britain as a Rome by conquering Ordivics and now wonder...

There is a strait between Hibernia and Caledonia (IIRC), which makes the game treat it as a land connection. So yes, you can colonise it.
