I was trying out the Voltaire's Nightmare mod as Prussia and attacked one of the other German countries and capitulated it. At like midnight, the day before I could annex it, it joined a faction which prevented it from being annexed! It then proceeded to call in a huge faction to defend it.
Is this something that can happen in the base game or just in that mod, and should it be that way? Seems kind of cheap to me, honestly. But I don't know if there might be a historical basis for it, hence my asking.
