I have the feeling that somehow self-governing is the only correct working colonial nation type, the other types are (from my feeling) slower in coring and aren't making any claims. Your long rebellion time could be related to this. The fast conquering is absolutely no problem, declare war on one and tick all his allies and his allies allies and when integrate all one by one in separate peace deals, the first wave of rebels was already during the war and was killed by my enemies.
It was 1.30, before leviathan.

Rebellions stopped in ten years? When i last got to the americas as Spain, dividing mayan lands to west indies CN, and mexico proper to new spain, new Spain kept rebels going for 20+ years which made me give up that game in the end

Edit, mamlukes are almost possible to conquer in time, but ive never seen anyone mimic cortes in time
That suggests you vastly overestimate what Cortes actually did, not that it's a problem with the game being too ahistorical. Mexico was fighting mayan Yucatan separatists after Texas rebelled. The actual conquest of Mexico took centuries and Cortes decapitating the Aztecs did not result in suddenly the entirety of modern Mexico becoming spanish even if european maps showed it that way.

Not the entirety of modern mexico, but as aztecs never get their historic extent in raw land or vassals, you can't conquer as fast as cortez did

hey guys, i stopped playing when emperor was released, right now is it playable? or are there too many bugs ruining the experience?
If you buy that, you should play the HR or the Papal states. That way you get the most out of it.
