Hello,
I'm not sure about the situation in my current GC- at 1860 United Kingdom is still without experimental trains, while others (France and Prussia) already have iron railroads! Is that a normal situation?
I'm using Victoria Revolution's Hotfix, maybe it has something to do with that?

Thank you!

Hmm, no... Italy isn't exactly an industrial super-power, but the bug is more common when you play countries like Sokoto! :p

I hope someone else knows the answer

Definitely not normal. If it happens again I'd redo the installation. I've never seen the UK without rail. France had that problem before the Hotfixes but normally not any more.

I tried to reinstall and it didn't help. But, when I tried to play as France- suddenly the English started to build rails (on the first few months!). So I guess it has something to do with me as Sardinia...

EDIT: After several tests, it seems now that England builds railways ONLY when I play as France!

Victoria, then patch 1.4, then Revolutions and then patch again. After it I applied the hotfixes. That's really strange, because I used to play this game a lot (from my house) and never happend to me such thing (I'm currently playing from a different computer)

If you got Revolutions from Gamersgate, it's already patched, there is no need for patching it again. This could be where it went wrong.

Hmm, I've installed the Revolutions but I also patched it with the patch I've got here. Also, I've checked, and if I don't use the patch, the version is still 1.4 (as shown in the top right of the main screen)!
That's really frustrating!

Thanks for your help, though!

But this is way beyond normal AI funkyness.

@stickert: You never said if you got Revolutions from Gamersgate. If you did, you should download it again and do a re-install without applying the second patch.

Sometimes the AI goes crazy, or an event changes a nation somehow. Perhaps an ahistoric choice was chosen?? Or maybe there were some strange revolts in the UK leading to a planned economy party coming to power perhaps?? This would thus limit capitalist expansion, and if the UK wasn't so wealthy for some reason, then the AI probably wouldn't be able to build railroads, etc... ???

Thank you all for your replies, it seems that UK has some "trigger" when to start expanding her economy- after I continued playing with Sardinia and Italy, around 1862 UK started to build with full speed railroads, and got entirely steel railroad at 1874!

Sorry for the troubles!

Just curious, did your economic policy of your government change in 1862?
