Before Holy Fury, you could mod the game to allow polygamous religions to take concubines and to allow religions with concubinage to go polygamous.

It looks like that has been taken out now. If a religion is polygamous it automatically overrides and block taking concubines.

I thought initially that this was a bug with adding women taking concubines, but instead it looks like this is something that was scripted with the polygamy issue. I am not sure why this change was made. I never had an issue with pregnancy since the birth events file could distinguish between consorts and spouses. From what I have seen with the updated file this will not be a problem as well.

Now, the take concubine option has vanished from polygamous men and blocks taking men taking consorts by decision (if enabled in the religion file)

Is there any way to restore this as a moddable option before the change was made? It was great for modding religions...also certain religions like Islam did have concubines in addition to the 4 wife limit.

You can't have polygamy with concubines unless you use mods. Also if you go random world and have a random religion with the polygamy doctrine in the tribal government, you will only get concubines, regardless of religious doctrines.

My point is that before the last mod I could mod the game to give a religion polygamy and concubines. However, now if I do that the concubine option remains disabled and only polygamy seems to work.

Random world is a whole different ballgame.
