Is it bad that I keep wanting to start over?

After playing the same game all day yesterday and coming here, and to Discord, to get more info.....I've learned so much new stuff now that I'm kinda itching to start over again. I mean, it wouldn't hurt anything. It's not like I have to erase my old file.

My first two tries were disasters, so I didn't feel as bad. But I literally put 13+ hours into this new game yesterday.

Anyone else afflicted by this disease?

Yes.

Some I abandon because of poor starts and decisions.

Some I abandon because it wasn't quite the situation I hoped for.

Some I abandon because I really wanted THIS game to be the one where I get the precursour event I was after and I didn't...

I like to think all those abandoned games are out there in parallel universes continuing on, achieving, succeeding...

..unless they're the slaving dominators of the galaxy...those guys are monsters.

Don't worry. I have been doing that for the last few days. :) I swear my current game I am going to try and finish. Keep learning new things, so I keep starting over lol. Glad I am not alone. :D

That's how you learn the game. I did a few restarts and planning a new restart because I never went to war and I'm playing in Iron man so I want to start a new game without Iron man mode so I can learn more how war works.

I'm thinking about restarting (Since I've figured out so much more about this edition since I started), I have a great position, but now my enemy is in a Federation along with most of the galaxy. I feel like I am in a losing battle already.

That's my biggest concern right now. I'm finally making progress but everyone has allies and I'm completely isolated from mine.

First game I've lost the enemy was to strong for me so I started again .
Second game I was going well for the first 20 years than it became a chaos in my head and in the game so I started again .
Third game is going well for the moment but if I feel this is going nowhere I will start again .
In fact what I want to say is if you feel it is time for a new galaxy don't hesitate .

I'm currently spiritual authoritarian. That can sometimes lead to conflict of purpose, but the spiritual part the only reason some empires will talk to me.

This play through has taught me so much but I just feel behind the curve.

Trying to remember if you can combine militant with a republican style government. Applying what I learned to being a "good guy" is interesting.

I may wait until I conquer my stubborn neighbors, though. I'm yet to fight a successful war and their dinky little system continues to defy me and have the audacity to have a far more powerful fleet.

Eventually, there is no way they can keep up the arms race since I blocked all their avenues for expansion.....I think

it still has to be ported over to work on console as well as with the game they just released a week ago that likely has a few bugs to be worked out.
No doubt, and I don't even mind the first release date....but they probably should have combined the first two. Your first DLC of a port being skins is not a good look.

again, I'm not sure which other games you guys are playing. the first DLC for most console games usually are skins/cosmetic/flavour.

plantoids (cosmetic) and leviathans (storyline) DLC's are to keep us coming back while they work away at the multiplayer and expansion DLC, utopia. this may not be the order you would have liked to see them but this is the order they're being released.

waiting 3-4 months for meaningful expansion DLC is the norm these days, luckily this game has so much going on to keep you busy , it'll be here before you know it.

Most games with DLC are not ports. Most ports come with all the DLC.

It's really not that big of a deal for me. But I can see why people who spent the extra money are annoyed....especially when the description didn't say it would be a timed release. I, for one, thought that was all included on day 1 from the description.

I'm not sure of the relevance or accuracy of your first statement.

can you give me an example of a ported game that came with all the DLC's on day one?

not sure where you bought it from but the very first line in the description in the xbox store clearly states...

"save money on content for this game by purchasing the Deluxe Edition. Content can be downloaded from the xbox one store as and when available."

it also clearly states which DLC's are included. this won't be relevant for about 6-9 months when someone will post that they thought all the DLC's, past, present and future were included in the deluxe version

Then they changed it. I don't remember the exact wording, but it said something like "The blah blah edition includes 1, 2 and 3" and then brief descriptions. The "as they release" part or anything that indicated a timed release wasn't there. I may not have paid the full price if it did. I'm not the first person on this board to mention it.

As for your other question, I can't remember the last time I saw a time delayed port that didn't have all the DLC. The first one that comes to mind is Tomb Raider, but that's just off the top of my head. I could probably think of more if I took some time. NMS is another, but that's not paid dlc.

I have to think back to which games had time release ports.
