I am playing as England and I won the Hundred Years' War, so I formed a personal union with France. Is integrating a good idea or wait for France to get some colonies then start integrating? By the way, if I i were to integrate France, will my force limit be increased so that I can take their huge armies?

I dont think you can influence much when and how you will integrate them or not apart from maintaining good relations.

You need first 50 years of stable PU to have a chance to inherit. And I think that chance is in reverse proportion to the size of lesser partners. Big countries are harder to inherit or maybe even impossible. The bigger France gets, the slimmer your odds become.

My relation with France is 200 and it has been 100 years after the war. France diplo-annexed all its vassals and integration is possible. But my question is when will be the best time to do it.

As soon as you can I would recommend. You don´t wanna risk disolution of the personal union because you don´t have an Heir etc.

I only know how it worked in EU3. If you inherited them, you got cores on their provinces if either: A) You were both in the same culture group, or B) You were both members of the HRE. AFAIK Integrating never gave you cores.

I have no idea how it works in EU4, but it might be something similar.

In EU3 integrating did not give u cores. I can confirm that integrating a nation now gives you cores. Such a relief. I was playing as France and PU'd a Naples that had most of Italy. I integrated them (which locked down one of my diplomats for about 15 or 20 years) and got a core on every single province.

Well, I guess right now then. :)
How could integrating France ever be a bad idea, especially since colonies in the New World are not that useful right now (see trade value discussions; bottom line: go to Asia). And yes, you get a core and hence you get the manpower and forcelimit adjusted, corrected by the amount the french had through their individual ideas.

Integrate France asap. You'll get cores, and will probably end up having Cosmopolitaine as a second accepted culture. Also, even if France's provinces did NOT give you the additional force limit to sustain its big armies (possible if France has ideas/advisors to increase force limit), why do you fret so much? Just disband those armies if you dont want them. It's super easy.

I cannot fathom why people would want to make France a vassal, wtf? To just throw away 80% of the power you got from integrating it? Seriously?
