I think it would be a great addition to the game. I know there is this great mod called "buy Province" but it seems that mod author has set that mod to their own fortune. If modder can do it i bet paradox can do it also. If you Play that mod you can see that it is pretty nicely balanced mod. You cant blob with it. Is there anyway that sometime on the future in dlc or in free patches we going to see this feature?

I asked the same question a year or so ago and most people then didn't think it was a great idea. Now with the money situation in game it could be a dangerous addition especially if the AI are allowed to use the same action. The "Threaten War" has become a staple of my games though. With that I get a province and don't even have to spend money. Plus the truces come in handy when attempting to avoid coalition wars.

Personally I'd like a buy province button but I don't think the current game, especially with the economy the way it is now (everyone has buckets of ducats), can support it.

Would be a dead button.

Either you can't buy a province unless they're in the same situation where they'd sell one - I barely ever see that happening already and now I'd have to check constantly to make sure they're in the right mood? - or it's an option even if they don't need it in which case I could just buy a path to split their nation in half.

So it's either exploitable or useless.

You could make it so when in AI is in a position where it would be close to considering selling a province normally, a player would be able to offer some extra amount as an incentive to push them over the edge. Basically add money as a modifier to the factors that affect acceptance of the action. AIs that would never under any circumstances sell a province would have -1000 as usual. So you'd go to the diplomatic macro page, see an AI with -5 to sell a province (normally valued at, say, 300 ducats), and be able to offer 300 x 5 = 1500 instead.

Effectively you'd have almost no change from the number of provinces being sold now. layers would just be able to proactively see an AI in a position to sell a province and offer extra to get it themselves, rather than just sitting around hoping the AI decided to offer it to the player.

It's a solution.

I just dislike the idea in general.

Nonetheless, your idea would be a solution.
