Is EU4 currently still fun to play?

I started playing around one year ago, and only a few hour to the 700 hours played. I still plan every campaign, yearn for more playtime and check the forums almost daily for more strategies, ideas and Paradox announcements. So, I guess it is, in my humble opinion, fun to play.
Very much so. EUIV still eats up a lot of my free time, and overall, it has gotten much better over the course of 11 patches and 5 (non-cosmetic) DLCs. That's not to say I think it's as fun as it could be, and indeed, some changes have made certain aspects of EUIV less fun, but the game as a whole is extremely enjoyable.
I'm personally having even more fun, with every new DLC that adds content, every new patch that fixes the bugs of the previous patch/dlc (ffs) and so on.
The ONLY thing that has ever pissed me off is the 50% idea limitation thing.
I hope this game will continue to receive content and development throughout this whole year.
And then, in 2016-2017 we'll get an EU5 that has a far larger timeframe starting somewhere in the 1300s and ending in late 1800s perhaps.

EU4 is the source of my ever growing backlog of games. I've got games lying around that I've bought over a year ago and haven't even touched yet because of EU4. I'd say it's fun to play, at least for me

Same here. There was a time when I could not wait for the next Steam Sale. Nowadays, I dread them since that backlog is getting bigger and bigger and I have to blame EU4 for it
After the 10th or so rehost because some dude didn't load into the game it is not so much fun anymore.
Singleplayer still fun and still addictive.
Magnified HRE AE makes expansion a bit more awkward and the bug with AI war behavior (attacking superior foes, my allies declaring on other allies even though they know I join the defensive side etc.) make everything a bit wobbly. But in general there are still so many nations and styles to explore, so much to do, so little time.

I was doing so well in my real life, spending less and less time gaming. Then last night I 'accidentally' started EU4 at eleven o'clock and half my day is wasted. Thanks (Obama) Paradox!
EUIV Boring? I think not! I am playing a Hindustan game at present which I'm loving! Come at me Westerners, I'm prepared (or so I think).
If it wasn't fun, I wouldn't be hanging around the game forums because I need my fix and I won't allow myself to play before I've finished my work.

Also isn't Europa Universalis IV one of the few strategy games that cover the Age of Discovery Era anyway, besides the older Europa Unversalis games. That reason alone makes me like paradox. I'm also awaiting HOI4 as i heard HOI3 was good. I hope after they make Victoria 3, they release a save game converter for EU4 to V3, and V3 to HOI4. Imagine the Inca's in WW2
As EU4 still has no unique technology-tree for non-European nations its still not fun to play.
Yes, still fun to play. It's funnier, safer and faster if you don't play IronMan, though. So slow, so buggy and you can't fix your campaign through console if you happen to face a bug (very common).
Anyway, good thing about IronMan is achievements and seems like you get significantly less negative events. If you already got most of the achievements, just don't play it and you'll be happy.
