Is EU IV going to be available for Macs?

Is Europa Universalis IV going to be available for Macs? Once upon a time, I was a PC user like most here, but since three years ago, I have started using a desktop Mac. I have Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. I bought EUIII for the PC back in 2007, and played it sporadically until I bought the Steam version of EUIII: Complete. Most recently, around May, I have bought EUIII: Chronicles from the Mac App Store. Thank God, the latest updated version of the game is finally available for Mac users. Now however, I am concerned that either one of the following is true regarding EUIV; that Paradox will not have a Mac version of the game available, or that a Mac version arrives three to four later, very late.

What do we know about the plans for a Mac version of EUIV? Thank you!

All three platforms - on release.

Look for the Operating system icons on the game titles in Steam. It tells you what you're getting with a purchase - In EUIV's case, that is Windows, OSX and Linux (I.E. All three)

I'm crossing my fingers that my macbook air will be able to run it.. It manages CK2 fine.

Being able to play EUIV on the run would be awesome!

I love the support paradox is doing for multiple operating systems. They did a bang up job with CK2 and I'm hoping for the same with EUIV!

Here's the system requirements from the Manual:

Macintosh OS X

Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor (2GHz or better)

I would like to thank Paradox for doing a day one release on all three platforms. That is something Linux users are not spoiled with.

Yeah it's good to see that it's both Mac and PC, because I have both systems and I recall some Paradox titles, HoI3 for instance, that had to be bought for Mac and PC separately... and on top of everything, the Mac version is way more expensive and also rarely on sale.

Is it pretty similar now with macs being intel based and all, or are there completely different programming languages for each platform?

They're still very different - For one you won't be able to take advantage of DirectX or the other Windows only goodies that Microsoft makes. Lots of workaround and whatnot - even if the hardware is the same.

The effort is much less now that they do all of it in house - previously they had third party companies doing the ports, which was... less than optimal. (Like having to purchase everything twice or trice)

So long as you avoid the trap of using Microsoft developer tools that only work on the PC you are usually okay. Mac and Linux share a lot of the same sort of underlying Unix-type code, so if you can do Mac you can do Linux without too much bother. But yeah, Paradox is very "enlightened" about platforms, and I wish more developers took their commitment to broad compatibility to heart.

I am really happy about the all 3 platforms, as my laptop runs linux, so when classes start up again, Ill be able to play some eu4 in my down time between classes.
