Is CK a failure or what?

I vote yes, the game is a failure. I've played it on and off, but the awkward gameplay always stops me from enjoying it. Between stability issues(now, mostly fixed, I admit) and silly gameplay (such as England making peace with the Fatamids, then a huge fatamid army takes over the Duchy of Norfolk) I've had never made it past 1200 in CK. Theres lots of other games out right now, and as with all paradox games, it will get better over time. Perhaps 1.05 or 1.06 will help make the game decent. I'm sure I'll break it out in a month or two and give it a whirl for a couple hours.

CK is close to being a very good game, but it's not quite there. It's a shame really, it probably wouldn't take much to fix most of the problems.

Did any of you peeps think that when you rant about CK it sort of upsets Paradox?
I feel really bad about you guys going on about CK being crap when paradox worked hard on it trying to make it enjoyable and still patching it when it hasn't done so well. They could always give up on CK but they keep going to satisfy fools like you.

If people find controlling 200+ courtiers is a pain, then shall we cut the amount of courtiers then. Any good suggestion on that deserve a thread on it's own and MrT's attention.

I think this could be done easely. Just add the option to view by quality:

Say: i need a new general -> select martial quality and have the best ones in the top. That would be great.

Another option would be maybe to select single men or single women, with the younger ones on top.

This is the second time I've seen someone complain about 200+ courts.

How in the **** are you getting that many courtiers? I mean, are you ever handing out titles? Losing people in battle? Losing people to disease? You are running 1.04a, right?

Even with fertile people, I still run out of males in my court after long wars where I lose half my court to combat and other half to ruling my new lands. And I really take some casualties from being Papal Controller. :rofl:

And I'm not even playing on furious, where everyone and their brother gets killed in combat.

Seriously, what are you doing that I'm not? I'd like to know, so I can have some people. always in my court.

I'm with you SM. In my current game, I rule most of Italy, I am the King of Naples, North Africa and Tunisia, and at one point I had 7 women in my court, that's it! 200?!?! I can't even imagine!

Well for my part I've enjoyed playing with it - even though I has to periodically edit the files to get the game going.

But I do think it's time Paradox, alone or with help from deeper pockets, invest on the creation of a new engine. It's aging badly - just loor at Rome TW or the upcoming Kinghts of Honor...

No I dont feel bad - I paid good money for it and I expect it to work..

What if you bought a chainsaw that was this buggy???
You would be missing some arms and/or legs and might be dead - we are just lucky it is just software but that is no excuse for shoddy workmanship...

Maybe it is because Sweden is such a socialist country that people just expect crap for their money but I dont....
