Hi,
I discovered the Sicily bug a few weeks back and made myself start over again and ensured I didn't attack Sicily until I had secured more of Italy.
This I have now achieved but I feel like I have run into another bug.
I analyzed where the best place to cut Italy in half would be and I invaded and secured Napoli and then two provinces to the right. This way I was able to cut Italy in half by only using three provinces. Napoli is Urban and sits behind a river, the other is mountainous and sits behind a river, sadly the other is plains and is fairly open.
I have secured them pretty well and have air support (great for busting tanks but not much infantry killing power at the moment). I have used a lot of engineers to get their terrain bonuses along with anti-tank/infantry. In all........... I think it's pretty secure with just 2-3 corps.
What is bothering me is that Italy have moved their entire force to this area, along with the Axis eastern Europeans. Thus there is a considerable force on my doorstep. I am taking down the infrastructure around them to decreased support, though despite all their troops they very rarely attack. I have sat there for approximately 9 months and have only really been attacked twice. Both attacks started at circa 15% and then dropped to an Italy loss.
Is this another bug or are they doing as they should? I guess they might think they have me blocked off, but I've secured the waters, I essentially control half of Italy with just 2-3 corps and can now focus on pushing units out for a France invasion.
I really do not want to start again but I cant shake the feeling that this is just another bug.... but I am way way to new to the game to understand the dynamics of controlling a strong line.
Please advise.
Regards
Lee
