I don't think phenotypes affect the gameplay at all, so yes. A plant class is a good idea, because variety is nice, and psychotic plants who are a little too eager to get their blood and bone fertilizer might be fun.

I think sharing the same phenotype has a minute relation bonus from xenophobic species, but its effect is unlikely to be huge from the look of it.I don't think phenotypes affect the gameplay at all, so yes. Not to mention the true Banana Republic. Accept no substitutes.Plants would be a nice option, but only if they get access to a unique 'despotic hedgemony' government
hey, we made it 500.000 years, thats atleast something.A better question : is the human race a good idea ?
Yeah... me too. That's probably why we don't have plants or robots on release. Sad but true, and already 2 DLCs I will buy.
Although I do have some hope for the Plant type being available with the base game, as it already appeared in the race creation on the stream. But, there's a good chance that will be sold as a separate DLC at/soon after launch.
Plants and Fungi are nothing alike - not even close
Only similarity is that both usualy dont move around much
Hey the Art Team needs something to do while the programmers are killing Bugs.
The crew physically power their ships. Photosynthetic should be a trait, one ANY species can have, not just plants.Let's be clear, these are species classifications that aren't scientific - they're ultimately just here to provide us with additional flavor, and given how little we know about xenobiology any of the phenotypes are basically equally likely at this point.
So, why not add a plant type - or more specifically and broadly, a "photosynthetic" phenotype? It'd be a great excuse for a new set of ship and station models, perhaps ones with a more organic theme to them.
You don't have to be a plant for that. The guns in many 40k ships are operated entirely by hundreds of slaves physically hauling on them using systems that predate the industrial revolution. The crew physically power their ships.
You know what I mean...You don't have to be a plant for that. The guns in many 40k ships are operated entirely by hundreds of slaves physically hauling on them using systems that predate the industrial revolution.
No, not really. There really isn't any particular reason for another class of critter to be 'first.' Species is really just an aesthetic choice at this stage. We already have Fungi, and if done well, I can see some major differences between the two classes, however we already have species in Fungi that look like they could belong with Plants. Aren't there some other classes that should probably be there before we get into plants? Like amphibians and such.
It looks like a bit more than a placeholder. They have a full Name List already in the first Blorg Video. Wiz even clicks on it.Do we know PLANT was not a Placeholder?
Not really. You know what I mean...
The same could be said for all phenotypes.Plants would be pretty cool but I would want them incorporated at the same time as an overhaul that changed the basic mechanics of how each classification plays because the way a plant society works should be totally different to the way a human society works.
