Yes, tried already myself too. As the devs said, you'll lack historical wonders but should be able to play as well as build your own new ones.
That's in regards of 3.0.1 saves, elder ones might be broken.

It worked perfectly for me and achievements are still available to me in my current game so everything seems to be fine. Except when loading my save my dark haired greek emperor as the face of an irish redhead duke (crown doesn't match) so that is weird.
It works! I had no idea the update was dropping this week so I was really surprised when I loaded up my current Roman Empire game and found I could build great works. Currently Rome is getting a great library.
My message settings keep changing themselves again, like the 3.0.1.0 (?) before 3.0.1.1.
Also, set *all* the finish siege options to pop-up and pause, but still doesn't pause. Though this is all from using a 3.0.1 save, dunno if it makes a diff.
