Is 1.03 a better patch?

Is it safe to play Victoria now? I haven't played it since 1.02. Would like to know if the 1.03 patch is a good or bad patch.

I like it. The economy is better. Some people think Prussia is harder and I kind of agree but I had my best Prussian game yet. There seems to be a problem with the upper classes getting thier needs filled but that doen't bother me to much. Overall it is much better and I have been playing it exclusively since it came out,

Prussia is not any harder IMO...in fact your starting factory setup is much more sensible and you will be able to import the things you need to upgrade POPs (makes things very much easier). 1.03 is 10X better than 1.02 for any country

Yes, huge improvement. Only problem left is the POP cash thing (which isn't as serious as people say in the sense that it only very occasionally (I've never seen it) makes POPs devolve.

Oh yeah and colonies are still pretty messed up...

The pop cash thing is almost totally cosmetic. I'm not at all convinced it has anything to do with farmers in factories (I go with the immigration/emmigration theory there myself.) Partisans are much better, money is *slightly* easier, in that it's more predictable and you have a better chance to DO something with minors to make some money. The civilized mechanic works a lot better than earlier versions, and is MUCH MUCH better than having no chance at all under 1.02.

To echo what others have said, 1.03 is definitely a better patch, & well worth the download. Everything is not perfect, but IMHO the game is greatly improved.

I also find 1.03 great. It sorts it many problems, and the fact that factory output is now moddable is great. I hated the economy of 1.02 but now, with 1.03, I'm able to mod the factory output and thereby make an economy I like to play with. That is, IMHO, one of the best things about 1.03.

In the beginning of the GC (I'm in 1839 as Prussia in my first 1.03 game) the troops only cost 10 canned food and 10 Small Arms. Also, to add to the mobilize pool it costs only 50 of Small arms and Canned food!!!! Thank you Paradox. (Also, I modded the time that Hannover leaves being a satilite to sometime in 1836 instead if 1837)

Very good patch that improves on every problem the game had except the crippled state your country is in for the first 5 years while you pull your country out of the mysterious ditch whoever was in charge prior to 1836 put your country is in.
