Iroquois diplomacy VPs?

Who out there can answer this question that's been bugging me for the last couple of games:

Why do the Iroquois often get on the top ten in diplomacy VPs?

I never see them diploannex any of the other tribes. So what's the story, anyone have an idea?

Just curious really...

Really? I haven't seen this at all in my games for a long time!

Yea but why would the Iroqious, a pagan American tribe, get Holy Roman Empire, (how would they even know about Germany), and then get more popular than Austria or Spain. I've actually seen them diplo annex the Shawnee.

They can convert and then be (one of) the only Christian state left. Trust me, including the accounts of others, Native American tribes have become Holy Roman Emperors many times.

It's definitely too early for them to be HRE, there's plenty of other, and better candidates. Like a catholic Austria.

But this ain't the first time I've seen it either.

Whatever...I'll start up as them and see what their situation is like. Maybe they diplo-vassalized England!

Yes, it was a joke, based on the one time when someone actually had a catholic Chief Bear from the Iroquois as HRE

Making RM's, alliances etc does earn u a nice amount of VP's.

Yea but theres only so much the iroqois can do, they don't even get a +2 catholic bonus.

The only time I ever see the Iroquois anywhere is when they are getting run over by my annexing steamroller!

The AI gets many more bonuses you don't know about.
