The game loads perfectly fine, and all of my local saves are available. However, when I click on the 'Cloud' button the game crashes, and Steam stops responding. Assumed maybe it was a server issue on Valve's end but haven't had any luck yet this evening. Would this likely be an issue with the server, the game, or my system?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

You probably have a corrupt save game in the Steam Cloud. In the sticky "file locations" thread above you can see how to delete the unneeded ones, hopefully the problem is one of those.

If that doesn't help then Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local files" in Steam
- manually delete all files left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a verify when done.

Thanks for the info! I will see if the stickied thread is able to fix my issue. My one concern is that this particular game is Ironman. Since Ironman only has the single save file, does altering these setting risk losing the data? I realize this is more of a Valve issue, rather than a problem for Paradox, but they're notoriously hard to get help from. So I really appreciate the help! I've just spent a lot of time on this particular game and worry about losing it. Is there a way to retrieve a file from the Cloud and save it locally while retaining it's Ironman status?
