It´s an OPTIONAL feature, thus making the whining irrelevant. Achievements in a computer game. Yeah, what a difference that does...

Unfortunatedly however, it is indeed a fact that people like to brag online and thus cheating is real, including cheating to get fancy Ironman screenshots eventually. Even then, not something Paradox should bother. Those people should search a psychiatrist.

ironman is good, as long as it allow mod to use on them , and still able to get achivement, Paradox game player tend to heavily mod their game after all
Personally, i think it the best is that achivement still able to get though normal game, and ironman just a special achivement for those who enjoy difficult

I'm with this - I love Ironman, but I'd prefer if achievements were available through any type of game. As many have said, there are ways to cheat (and always will be), and some people can be incredibly motivated to cheat, so if achievements are available through the normal run of play it'll short-circuit this kind of behaviour, let anyone play with any mods and still have their achievements recognised (I'm fairly sure Podcat said in a response to the map DD that visual mods won't mess with ironman, but I'd guess that mods that change OOBs and province characteristics might - but if you could get achievements any which way, then ironman could be made compatible with any mods, as it's not just an 'honest achievement enforcement' thing).

I also think it's absolutely reasonable to get the "Worldconquest with Albania" achievement if I use my "Historical Albanian OOB"-Mod which includes the army of 1 million vampires lead by Zombie Skanderberg. ;)

Seriously - any change which can affect the game balance in even the tiniest bit should disable achievements.

just saying this, you know there is trainer right ?, with them, no matter how much difficult it is , just tick "unlimited resource","fast research" and "fast contruction", even the smallest country can take over the world
most of us here, play for experiment, and mod .. enhanced it, achievement is the reward of the act. Why punish us the right for get the reward, if we just want to "enhance" our experience ?

And those want to get achivement... they just using SAM. much more simple. It not like paradox game using VAC or not

Yeah, but apparently some people take achievement so seriously they want to avoid this kind of "cheating".

Aye, you're right, I hear ya, sorry, wasn't thinking. I guess there'll always be a tension between the two. I'm easy as long as I can play the game at the end of the day :).

In Skyrim you get achievements regardless of installed mods or using console/cheats. I dont think it would be a huge problem of itself, maybe few people taking achievements too seriously will be angry, but another group being able to get achievements while using mods would be delighted. At worst it would even out I think, unless of course the devs themselves are taking achievements too seriously :D
