Ironman mode still disabling itself...

First game i lost ironman was tabarastan to persia run. I was finally strong enough to think about taking out ottomans c. 1600, bam no more ironman.

Ok i think, it was a fluke. Ill start another game. Cylon buddhist strike back run. I played the campaign intermittently over about 5 days. I managed to take over all of vjay and was moving into indonesia, getting ready to take out bahmanis. Then bam, c.1520, lose everything again.

Third game, this time im gonna do something easy, western country ez yet time consuming achievement, lucky lucca. All of italy is mine, getting to a point where i wreck almost anyone. NOPE.jpg, c.1530, de-ironmanned again...

Fourth game, i figure ill do something different just to mess around that i could maybe finish quickly, since i was pretty much expectinng a de-ironman but still giving paradox the benefit of the doubt. Castille to rush every province in colombia in order to switch to that colonial nation. Finished colombia, about to start destroying castille internally before i switch over. Bam, literally the last save before i made the switch de-ironmanned, c.1540.

These happened on two different computers. I decided to not even bother playing anymore with this stinky poopoo until these Dan Bilzerian-esque developers get a firetrucking clue and actually fix something.....

Let me just chip in here:

Albania --> De-ironmanised in 1537
Jagannath Orissa --> Ironman lost in 1572
Ryazan into Russia --> Ironman lost when I made my Ryazan fish into Russia for the achievement, about 1512
Lucky Lucca --> Ironman lost after landing in India. 1566

I'm a cynical fuck, so I just laugh about all this, even if it makes me not have the achievement, I can cope. Besides it's only about 100 years of playtime for every try. I can certainly comprehend the fact people might really rage if it happens to their WC attempt.

My current run is as Denmark as there's a lot of people saying it's hard. So far it's far too easy without some added houserules, will go for Danelaw achievement and probably get my ironman screwed by the time I'm almost getting it! ^_^

I got the problem once (three mountains run, no less) when I unpacked a huge archive in the background while starting the game and then very quickly opening my save file. So maybe it is reproducible by letting prime95 or something similar use up all your cpu power. I'm too lazy too test it and don't get paid for it

My experiences aswell, that using too much juice will cause this issue and have stated my findings to the team.

As I see, the bug happens not entirely by checksum, but noticed that when hitting "singleplayer" the box in the left corner are unchecked and grayed out. My guess is, that loading from here on with that setting forces the game into being non-ironman. Did some testing with this assumption on an old save, where I tried to figure out a way to prevent this.

While not being able to turn ironman on, due to it being grayed out, you can simply go back to the main menu where it will take it´s time loading. Then hit "singleplayer" and you will then notice that the ironman box is not gray anymore but still unchecked. I checked the box, loaded the game and let it run for 3 months, exited and looked again. It was still ironman, so I believe it has very much to do with this little box being unchecked and forcing the game into another state, which shouldn´t be allowed when loading an ironman-game...
