Does a game loses it ironman status (and possibility for achievements) when going offline? Im asking because steam seems to have some issues the last days. I know cloud saves give a notification, but local saves dont.

Thanks

Does it still show the iron man icon?
For whatever it is worth - might be related - I have found that when steam collapses, one can continue playing even a cloud iron man game. You just need to work around the non-moveable and non-closable popup - it isn't modal. The game maintains iron man status.

Steam went down the other day and I was unable to even load my local ironman, it said I had to be connected to steam. What is the point of local ironman saves if I have to be online for them to work?

I've never yet come close to doing that even with 10+ ironman saves on cloud. It's not like the save files are very large. It still makes no sense for an local save to require a steam connection. Local doesn't crash steam like cloud used to so it's not an issue as often but steam still does go down not infrequently.

You must always be online when playing Ironman. All the local save does is to allow you to save to your hard which could be faster than cloud save. I have a SSD drive so I have no downtime when it's autosaving for example. As soon as steam detects you been offline long enough, it disables achievements.

Is there actually any evidence for this?
