Ironman file saved with DLC I don't have.

As thread suggests, I was playing an Ironman game as Ireland and having opened the game after saving yesterday, I opened the game and the ironman file apparently used the Mare Nostrum DLC (See IronmanDLCIssue.PNG) which I do not own (see marenostrumerror.PNG and dlcevidence.PNG). In all my 2K hours I have never seen this kind of bug. This is particularly annoying as I have been trying to get the Emerald Isles achievement for some time. But also because I am concerned this will happen in the future. I have not seen any records online of this bug. Does anyone have any info about this?

Your dlcevidence.png shows Mare Nostrum as enabled. Are you sure that you don't have it? Is it in the list of DLCs in the DLC tab of the eu4 properties in the library of the steam client?

check the dlcevidence.PNG it shows all my owned DLC and the marenostrumerror.png shows i have not purchased it. the DLC is not in my steam library.

I don't think I understand you. You say that dlcevidence.PNG shows all the DLCs that you own. But it shows "Mare Nostrum" between "The Cossacks" and "Rights of Man".
Do you maybe have some steam sharing activated? Then you could get the DLCs from the person which shares their library with you.

I hadn't thought about that I do have a steam share with someone, but it no longer works, and hasn't worked in some time, we just stopped using it. This is probably why. But its inconsistent. Sometimes the launcher thinks the DLC is there, other times it doesn't. I was also unaware that Steam Sharing could share DLC. I will see if the person I'm steam sharing with has the DLC.

AFAIK steam sharing only works if the other person is not using their steam library at the same time. So maybe the DLC shows up when they are not playing and it disappears again when they play.

If you didn't already try to load your save game with the DLC disabled, you might be able to continue your achievement run by doing the following:

You should make an additional backup of your save game in case something goes wrong. But if you don't solve the underlying issue you might get the same problem again. And changing DLCs in the middle of the run can always cause bugs.

I checked with my friend and he does not have the Mare Nostrum DLC. I will have to reinstall EU4 after this campaign. But this video actually helped, doing this worked. My Ironman is saved! thanks for the help.
