After the humilitation of WW1, Germany was forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles, blaming the entire war on Germany. The nation was forced to give up all its colonial holdings and yet they still were expected to pay the Allies reparation. In 1920, a radical group known as the Iron Guard, bombed the Reichtag and declaired the democratic government an abomination, and a disgrace to the German people. Their leader, Gunter Meyer, promised the German people a new beginning. But, it appeared the German people were not ready, Meyer was imprisoned while marching on Berlin, and not many people came to support him. While in prison, Meyer made new friends with his fellow cell mates, he promised them freedom when he was released.
When Meyer's trial came, they could not prove that he bombed the Reichtag, but he was imprisoned for assaulting a police officer. He spend six months in jail becuase of 'good behavior.'
He returned to Essen to begin rebuilding the Iron Guard. Only to find that membership had soared while he was in prison. It seems a young man named Adolf Hitler, convinced many to join the cause. Meyer took Hitler under his wing and promised him a seat of power in the new government.
The Iron Guard now sported two branches, the Civilian branch, and the Military branch, the military branch consisted of all former World War 1 veterans, and any ruffians who were willing to fight for the cause.
As 1924 rolled around the corner, the popularity for the Iron Guard was increasing. Membership soared throughout the country, the Iron Guard was kicking out all the Socialistic and Communist parties. They would destroy any democratic political rallies, much of the German police force rallied behind the
Iron Guard. In fact, 83% of the Police in Germany were members of the Iron Guard.
The Iron Guard marched only carrying the German flag with the Iron Cross. They believed any other version of the flag was a disgrace to Germany. Anyone who was in possesion of the flag would likely find their shop and home damaged, and many times destroyed.
In the 1924 Weimar Republic elections, the the Iron Guard was defeated by 1 percent when the other Political parties joined together to defeat them. Meyer was furrious, he vowed revenge against the other political parties. In one of his most famous speaches he was quoted, "There will be hell to pay!"

1924
The Iron Guard sent supporters the Russia to stop the communist government from being overthrown. Although this was illegal, the current government didnt have enought power to stop them. Russia was locked in a civil war, the Reds vs the Tsarists vs the Democratic government. Gunter Meyer decided that if Russia was to become a friend to the German people, the Tsar would have to be returned to power.
Thats following December elections were held again, the Iron Guard won with flying colors.

Meyer immeditatly began ripping through the Treaty of Versailles. He began building up the militarym this gave many Germans jobs and got them out of thier massive depression. He stopped all payments to Britain and France. He used the money that the American sent him to rebuild the industries and research new weapons of war.
In April of 1925, he held a meeting with the Polish and non-Soviet Russian government. Poland was to be given Lithuania and Latvia, in return for handing the Danzing territory over to Germany. In order to prevent Russian intervention, both Poland and Germany send volunteers to help fight the Communists. Poland though, demanded to be given far east Czechslovakia, otherwise it would not comply. Meyer thought all this work would then be wasted, Czechslovakia would never give up land to Poland. Meyer went to see the Czechslovakia leader.
"Take it! Get that damn rebelious Slovakians out of my territory." He was more than willing to give up a little bit of land for the greater good. Then next day, the Treaty of Warsaw was signed. Polish forces invaded Lithania an Latvia, the Allies threatened intervention, but did nothing. Ther German Empire sent over sixteen divisions to aid the Russians in their war against Communism, the Polish only sent five.
In 1926, the German Empire declaired war on the Afrikan nation of Ethiopia. Using boats given to them by the free Russians, they invaded the country in two weeks, mainly due to slow movement by the ww1 panzers.

P.S. Can anyone make the flag into the flag for Doomsday? Cause i do not know how.

Once the war in Afrika was done the German Empire set about rebuilding its own navy. Meyer knew that if conflict came again, the German people would not survive another British blockade. He commissioned the construction of twelve battleships, eighteen battlecruisers, 24 heavy cruiser and 30 submarines. They estimated that the order could be completed by 1930 if they put all industrial efforts behind it. But Meyer had other plans, he ordered 70% percent of the industry to work on it, while still allowing the other percent to industrialize more of the nation.
In 1927, Meyer made the most daring move he had made since comming into power, he sent military forces into the Rhineland. The French immediatly threatened to send military forces to kick out the Germans, but the American government fought for the German Empire. It believed so strongly that the Treaty of Versailles was wrong, that they even threated to force the French to pay them for the equipment the sent to them during the war, if they attacked the German Empire. The French, reluctatly, backed down. Meyer breathed a sigh of releif, the German army was not yet prepared to fight the French army.
The German Empire signs the Treaty of Washington, with America. It states that the American and German people will never war again. The German Empire will not attack any American neutral vessels, and the American government will not allow the British to prevent their transports from reaching Germany. The two nations sign a non-aggression pact, to last them through 1940.
The American people rejoice, they no longer need to worry about conflict in Europe. The USA government becomes completely isolated from Europe, with the exception of trading goods to Wester Europe.

hmm Meyer and not Hitler as head..interesting...tsar in russia and germans in ethiopia is also interesting...

In 1928, Meyer ordered the invasion of the imposter nation known as Luxembourg. Needless to say, it took less than two days to conquor. Meyer also went to see the Denmark president, they signed the Treaty of the North Sea. This gave Germany southern Denmark, and the small island of Bornholm. It return, Denmark was given two of Germany's battleships, a guarantee to go to the other's aid in case of war, and a non-aggression pact with Germany through the 1950s. Meyer was happy with the way the German Empure was rebuilding itself. But he was an ambitious leader, with an ambitious aide. Hitler constantly pushed him to do something about the German undesireables, but Meyer had no reason to punish them. Rather he fueled he want to reunite the German people as one German Empire.
In 1929, the German Empire declaired war on Saudi Arabia. It landed troops and the invasion lasted six months due to intense partisan fighting. The German troops were ill equiped to fight in the Desert, and their panzers filled with sand and died. The German losses numbered 3,434, the Arabian losses, 18,000, but the kicker is that the German Empire lost 1600 trucks, and 400 Panzers due to sand.
In 1930, the Free Russian government asked the German Empire to donate more men and materials to the fight against Communism. Meyer knew he had to, the Communist idea was already spreading in Finland, China, Mongolia, and even France was beginning to move towards Communism. Meyer knew, with the Tsar as an ally, he would not have to worry about agression from the Communists. Meyer ordered two panzer divisions and sixteen more infantry divisions to aid the Russians.
In 1931, the Democratic fighters in the far East of the Soviet Union declaired themselves the nation of Siberia. They immediatly requested aid from all the democratic governments of the world. Meyer, still biding his time before removing democracy from the German Empire, decided it would be a show of good will to help the Siberian people in their war for freedom, and sent over six infantry divisions.

In December of 1931, the free nation of France became an enslaved nation to Communism. While not as centralized as Stalin, they were followers of the Marx doctrine. Meyer instantly realized that war with France would come soon, and that meant war with the Soviet Union. He gave the order to send Russia more divisions to win the Civil War.
During the Christmas Dinner, Meyer was rudely informed that the Chinese nation was now in a state of Civil War as well. The Communist followers of Mai Zedong declaired their independence from Chang Kai-Sheks nationalist government. Meyer knew that Chang Kai-Shek would need support to ensure victory, as the Asian continent was dominated by the Communist powerhouse, the Soviet Union.
The day after New Years Meyer informed the people of the German Empire that the days of Democracy are over. The democratic system too closely resembles the Communist believes. He set Hitler to use whatever means necessary to get the people to believe it. Schools would now teach of the evils of Democracy and the unity and Nationalism that is promoted under a Monarchy-type government.
This had recoils to the German Empire. The American people saw this as the beginning of the end to their friendship. Although Meyer stood by the Treaty of Washington, he knew the step towards Dictatorship would hurt their relation with America. To protect its interests, the Republic of Spain joined the Allies, the Greeks and Turks also joined the Allies. The nations hoped by strengthening the alliance, any thoughts of war would diminish as the opposing nation would be vastly out numbered.
In return to this move, the German Empire, seeing their main rival, Britian gaining more friends, realized that they needed guaranteed friends. The German Empire created the Berlin Pact, the pact guaranteed all participating nations would aid the others if brought into conflict. The first nation to sign it was Denmark, the little nation to the north, many Danes believed they were Germans and that they should unify with the German Empire. The second nation to sign the Pact was Sweden, this caused Norway to join the allies so it could defend itself against any Swedish aggression.
To counter all this treaty signing the Soviet Russian Government created the Comminetern, or the Union of all Communist governments. The French, Mongols and Communist Chinese joined the Commintern. All the nations quickly sent aid to the Soviet Union. The Soviets promised aid to the Chinese once their own civil war was delt with.

I love the alternate history backstory in this AAR. It is really intriguing and makes for excellent reading.

That Berlin Pact seems to be a sucess with the quick joining of Scandinavia. In any event, excellent series of updates.

Very nice alternate beginning, shall be interesting to see how this works out when the game starts. Looking forward to more, good work :)

very interesting AAR.
Although I'm not sure why Germany would have ever wanted to invade ethiopia or saudi arabia at this point. Consider Germanys position at the centre of europe and the danger that she is potentially in...
Would anyone send forces so far away with very little to gain from it ?

My thinking exactly, or as Bismarck put it: "France is to the left, Russia is to the right, that's my map of Africa" ;)

ow ow, sunburn...Im back!
In Febuary of 1932, the people of Austria joined the German Empire. They believed that if they joined an Empire, their nation would rise in power once agian.
In April of 1932, Meyer offered the Hungarians a chance to join the greater good. The Hungarian leader denied this, and seeing that the German Empire would attack them to get what it wants, forcd Hungary to fold some land to the German Empire. The next day, Hungary signed the Krakow Alliance, which allied Romania, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Czechslovakia and Poland. Meyer was furious, he moved all his divisions to the Eastern front threatening war. He demanded that Croatia and Slovakia be freed from their oppresive governments. Meyer knew they would be small allies, but they would hurt their parent nations. The Krakow alliace denied, and Meyer declared war.
The Krakow Alliace military outnumbered the German Empire almost two to one, yet the German Empire did not faulter. The Danes and the Swedes both sent aid to Germany. After two weeks of fighting the Krakow Alliance realized that their equipment was outdated, and that the German Soldiers were superiorly equiped. They begged the Allies to help them, the Allies responded by holding a meeting to try to end the bloodshed, before it escallated to full war.
On May 18, the London Treaty was signed by the German Empire and the Krakow Pact members. It stated that the nation of Slovakia be freed, and that Croatia be freed from Yugoslavia. It also had the German Empire sign non-aggression pact with France, Britain, Poland, Hungary, and Yugoslavia. And all nations signing the treaty reduce their military might.
Meyer of course, knew that the Treaty would never last. He didnt disarm his military, rather, he sent his forces into Sweden to hid them from the Allied Weapon inspection that was to come in September. After his nation passed the inpection he brought his military back from Sweden.
In December, Meyer, as a sign of friendship with the United States, sent a personalized Cruiser, the Washington, to America. It was the largest Cruiser of the time, just under battleship size. Meyer also orderd monetary aid to be sent to America, even though the German Empire could not afford it, Meyer knew that in the upcoming years that he would get the gold of his neigbooring nations.

Meyer awoke in the middle of the night after a terrible dream. He realized that he needs access the the mediterranian to keep his colonies. He realized that to avoid war, he would need to convince the Croatian people to join the German Empire. He got up and began writing out possible treaties.

The Russian Civil war was going badly for the Tsar. He has only lost territory, even though he has the most followers, the military is behind the Soviet Government. The only reason his nation still exists is because of the German aid. And that aid is becoming less because the German Empire is surrounded by opposing alliances. The Tsar knows that in the event of war the German Empire will fight a two front war. Meyer will ask for the Tsar's soldiers back and then Russia will succum to Communism. The Tsar contacts the nations of Bulgaria and Romania. He gets them to sign a secret Treaty, the Tsar Pact. Romania would not honor the Krakow Alliance, and both nations would send aid to Russia in her fight against Communism. The three nations also agreed that once the Russian civil war was finished, they would join the German Empire's Berlin Pact.

The Croats needed some 'persuading,' but they did agree to join the German Empire, on the grounds that they would be released later on. This gave Meyer his naval access to the Med sea. Meyers next move involved the country of Switzerland. He signed the Swiss Treaty, protecting Switzerland from all nations, and in return, Switzerland would submit itself to the German Empire if invaded by a foreign power. Meyer was forced to guarantee that he would release the Swiss Republic once the entire Swiss country was liberated.

In July 1933, Partisans in Denmark, funded by the German Empire, revolted against their government. In less than a day the Danes were unified with the German Empire. Meyer finally had controll of the steel trade with Sweden. He proceeded to help the Swedes reequip their military with current weaponry rather than the WW1 equipment.
