How can you softcode something that is hardcoded?
Please Amallric, even if you dont want to buy the game because it not worth it, please dont disgust other players from wanting it.
I never claimed such a thing.
Wheter I'm gonna buy the game or not is irrelevant. I'm merely telling what I consider being the truth. This whole argument started when some people claimed that DH will bring more changes in the game mechanics than AoD did. This is, in my opinion, false.
Guys,
I think that Amallric is somehow sceptical because he sees new stuff more in such thinks like he already mentioned.
An onpinion like: "Hell you have the code, make a new supply system, let me build Divisions like wyK1NG described in his wishlist for HOI3 or something, All I can see until now is "
just" previous hardcoded stuff that we can change now via modding...." Go make something really "
NEW"..."
And the others think: "Whoa, finally we can change all the thing we ever wanted via modding, how cool is that, they also doing it more in an evolutionary way instead of a revolution. I'll be able to play all my favourite mods but much better refined! Yeah! Go! Make it happen!"
So just two different points of view. One just more exited then the other..
Also we should not forget, they will save some good thinks for the finish.. And if you look on the team behind, well than you could see what you can expect.
I don't know MartinBG's former work, but have seen f.e. Fernandos.. No much more to say to stay tuned.. No?
I can just imagine what effort has already been done to polish the old engine in this way the AoD and DH team has done. And I've still hope that they will go further and will change more of the game in the near future (Divisional System->choose the Batalions, Map, overall look and feel, Supply, Trade, existing ressources, Diplomatic influence and Spying, Research! all of it! ) and even more and more....
Keep on the good work. And be thankful to have customers who stay
politely doubtful. It help sometimes to not fly to high..
You will make it guys!
Kind regards,
