Hello. With Iron Cross now at only €5 on Gamersgate, should I buy this expansion to enhance DH experience? I don't have and don't plan to buy Armagedon or AoD, DH would be the only game I could play this expansion with.

What is the level of cooperation between IC and DH teams to make both games compatible and balanced when used together?

TBH, I wouldn't recommend getting IC for DH, I believe it was primarily made for Arma, and only utilizes its features to the fullest extent; it isn't really balanced with AoD, and most probably especially not with DH, which seems to be changing a lot more about the game than AoD did. I certainly believe that the DH team didn't make DH with Iron Cross in mind.

Until they release a "patch" that utilizes the new map and other features.

I don't know if you're aware of it, but IC already has a new map...

DH, which seems to be changing a lot more about the game than AoD did

I think you completely failed to understand the philosophy of DH which was to provide modability and UI improvements to the HoI2 engine without adding significant new features, as well as new softcoded content.

That was repeated many, but obviously still not enough times.
Darkest Hour engine is fully compatible with all mods developed for HoI2:DD:Armageddon (and more precisely Armageddon 1.3 patch). Changes to Vanilla files are limited to the minimum (less then 10 files in total) and ALL new features in Darkest Hour are optional and fully moddable.
The map, tech tree, 1914 scenario etc. are part of Darkest Hour Full which is located into a separate sub-folder.

I read all of the developper's diaries unfortunately and that was the conclusion I drove from them. I don't think it makes sense to try to explain my point of view as you are a developper but please don't label something as "false" only because it differs from the official communication.

AoD is the one that aimed to improve HoI2, while DH is the game that changes a lot more. New map, new tech tree, new scenarios, new mechanics...
