I'm kind of curious too, the situation in Ireland at game start is difficult to model.

I think the AGC-EEP people did a good job for history but not for playability, and also the result is it's too easy for England to subdue the island (which is true in all the scenarios IIRC).

I would hope for a pseudo-CK system where a successfull minor can 'claim' a title. For instance, Italian minor expanding and becoming Italy

For what date is this statement NOT true?

PS, I love playing AGCEEP; don't see what is lost in playability.

I wouldn't like to see Holstein, Sweden and Portugal holding Ireland in EUIII, this "strange atrattion" should be erased

My solution fixes this

Seriously, Ireland always got taken because the provinces lacked a starting fort and the minors always made bad alliances and got dragged into stupid wars. With a good AI I don't think we'll see this happen anymore.

Yes, but instead of white, it should be the color of Guinness.

From the looks of the latest screenies, it would seem Ireland shall be divided into the respective provinces; Ulster, Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Meath (The Pale).
If that is the case, then I think Paradox will have modelled it as best as can be done.

And in at least one screenie on TC, it looked like Ireland was divided into three (3!) countries.

And I'll support 'Ireland as PTI' with one modification: "unless your capital is located there."

I hated PTI in eu2, and I would personally be glad if it was gone and besides it wasn't that people didn't know ireland was their it was that england wouldn't let anyone take and the irish themselves faught anyone who tried until england took them over.

I very seriously doubt that any of the posters is really suggesting Ireland as a candidate for PTI...(except possibly for pjcrowe ;) :p ).

Bah, if that were the case and you were playing England, how would your random leader Oliver Mitrabrook get his nickname of the Búistéir na Éire? Or your other random leader, Thomas Willgoprice get his nickname of Black Tom Tyrant?
