Colonies- 12,681,000. Largest: Freetown, Guinea, at 1,463,000
Non-colonial overseas territory- 7,683,000. Largest: Groningen at 4,680,000
Total Population- 40,625,000. 53% Irish, 19% African Minor, 10% British, etc... Dutch is less than 3%, Iif I recall correctly...

:rofl: Yeah, it was kinda the dumping ground for Ireland's overpopulation. it went from 100,000 in 1871 to 4,680,000 in 1916. I believe that's an increase of 480%!

In February, which had since been dedicated as 'colonial month' for the number of colonies admitted to the Irish Empire in that month, yet another colony was added, in the form of Kufra.
Later that year, in September, the colonies of Equatorial Africa and Kordufan were completed and added as colonies as well.
However, the most interesting events would be the events of October 1916. The Entente, which had formed against Austrian aggression, was falling apart. When, Austria attacked the Ottomans again in early October, 1916, not one of the Entente powers moved to help. Britain was busy suppressing rebellions in their new lands in Russia, and Russia wasn't going to help if Prussia didn't. Prussia was too busy at the moment, working to control the rising inflation in their country, which teetered on the brink of economic strife. By October 26, Austria's blitz against the hapless Turks brought them to the city of Novi Pazar, where a valiant Turkish defense stopped the Austrian advance at the gateway to Greece.
In the meantime, the new colonial additions in Africa would be getting railroads, so that their raw materials could be connected with the great markets of Freetown and Buea.
In February, the lines in the Ottoman-Turkish war had not changed.
However, a St. Patrick's Day offensive conducted by Count Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf at the city of Bor opened the way to Nis. The Austrians continued the push into April, capturing Pristina and the rest of Pogdorica. By late May, Ottoman resistance had nearly collapsed with the loss of Petric and Vlore.
In September 1917, the Trans-African railroad's expansion was completed with the completion of the station in Jeratha.
On September 9th, 1917, an economically stabilized Prussia finally lent the much needed support to the beleaguered Ottomans by declaring war on Austria.
By January of 1918, Russia, Krakow, and Sardinia-Piedmont joined against Austria.
Suddenly, an overstretched Austria had to compensate for a hugely expanded front. The resulting exodus from the Balkans left the Austrians weak there, and opens for Turkish attack.
The situation as of March 1918:
In the Western Theatre:
Almost immediately, Vienna fell to 180,000 Prussians. 100,000 Austrians in Sankt Polten were desperately trying to height out of a possible stranglehold, but Prussian victories in Budejovice, Linz, and Ried did not help.
In the Northern Eastern Theatre:
The great Battle of Kosice trapped 80,000 Austrians behind Austrian lines, and was later hailed as one of the greatest Russian battles. To get to Kosice, a fast campaign across Galicia encircled and destroyed many Austrian divisions. In the South, the Russians were pushing north from the major supply center of Bucharest.
In the Balkan Theatre:
The great battles of Varna and Burgas threw the Austrians out of their tentative connection to the Black Sea. However, technologically lacking Turks could not press their advantage. As March draws to a close, a great battle looms in Pleven.
This war looks to be more sucessful than any of the other wars before, especially if the Turks get their act together. Perhaps the Irish army would be of assistence? I spose you would need Britain to join first, or could this be Ireland's first independant war...?

Yeah, it appears that way... The Irish do need Britain's declaration of war in order for them to go to war. But, this will be addressed in the next update in further detail...
Hah. A bunch of pointless countries and Russia attacked Austria. It's kinda cool to see the AI engage in its own Crimean War against Austrian invervention in the Balkans, not caring as long as Austria stayed west but going all coalition of the willing on 'em once the Austrians got near Istanbul.

I don't think that the Austrians can win a war as long as losing control of Vienna is an integral part of their strategy. In how many wars have they gone "Hah, we shall kill you! Oh no, we have lost Vienna!" now?
