Invading USA before USSR

I am know peopel have done it before me, but what if I one day abandoned the idea of invding USSR with Germany in 41 instead I went overseas via Canada to attack USA.
Its a bit risky to have porly defended Europe ageisnt the red bear. What is your experience in this?

I did that once, much to my surprise Italy actually sent me support across the Atlantic! I think if you are going to do it that way though, you need to be fast, and you need the element of surprise, because time is not on your side. Your main priority is to take out New York, Chicago and the surrounding area as fast as possible, because that will really hurt the yanks. If you manage to conquer the USA in time, i'd install a puppet and get back to Europe as fast as possible. Last thing you want is to get stabbed in the back by the big red bear. Because whether you like it or not, sooner or later you got to face the might of the Soviets.
