Invading Alaska from Japan?

I am playing Japan in HoI2 and have annexed China and conqered the usual southeast asian empire plus India the gulf states and most of Australia. I have also taken Hawaii and would like to invade Alaska in mid 1945. But my transports don't have the range to reach Attu or Kiska to start the Island hopping campaign. Since Japan did in fact invade this area, what is the problem? ( The allied fleets are not a factor since my 47 naval bombers have
pretty much annihilated both the American/UK fleets and my navy is still intact, with 12 CV. I have sunk over 30 allied carriers!).I realize this may not be the correct place for this question, but could someone please respond.
I have already tried taking a russian island closer to Attu and building a naval base there to extend my operational range, but still cannot reach Attu. Help!

Have you tried using the 'Rebase' Mission for your transport fleet? Also, are there any short ranged ships (old DDs and CLs) with them that would inhibit range?

And so it started Tojo stood their in a garden in Tokyo and was thinking to himself, hm I wonder if anyone has tried invading Alaska from Japan? And it was in that very moment he made up his mind. Im going to invade Alaska from Japan! He started to shout after his staff sergant who was sleeping in a bambus-chair in the garden.

Staff Sergant: *wakes up* Why are you screaming at me Tojo?
Tojo: I have an idea!
Staff Sergant: What?
Tojo: I will invade Alaska from Japan!
Staff Sergant: But, but we don`t have any winter clothes for our troops, they will surely freeze to death!
Tojo: Good! Then the rest of the soldiers will have frozen dinners ready every day, and we don`t have to supply them so often!
Staff Sergant: But, this is crazy!
Tojo: Are you calling me the greatest General in Japanese history crazy?
Staff Sergant: Nooooooo
Tojo: I don`t belive you!*takes up his samurai-sword and chops the Staff Sergants head off*. Well that`s the end of that! No I only need a new Staff Sergant and a clean non bloody uniform and we are ready to set the greatest idea an Japanese has ever had into life!

So Tojo ran to his waiting car and asked the driver to drive him to the Imperial war ministry. When he arrived he walked in and threw the bloody uniform in the receptionists face.

Receptionist: Why did you do that!
Tojo: It was funny! And I wanted somthing to laugh about.
Receptionist: You have offended my honor!
Tojo: Really?
Receptionist: I demand a duel!
Tojo: I don`t have time for this, I have a crazy invasion to plan!*unholsters his samurai-sword and stabs the Receptionist in the chest* That will teach you to not wast my time!
*Another General walks by and hear what Tojo is saying*
General: But he`s dead now! You wont teach him anything now!
Tojo: Another one eh! *chops off the Generals head*, Well I guess I should get going, it`s time to discuss my briliant plan with the other officers!

Tojo had given the other officers a call and had told them to come to the Imperial War ministry to discuss his briliant plan.


Tojo: As you all know the devils in America are laughing at us every day and are insulting our nation with their support to our enemies!
Officer 1: Well what should we do about it?
Tojo: Well you should listen to my plan, *Tojo starts to tell about his briliant plan to the other officers*
Officer 1: Good plan!
Tojo: Finnaly I get some recognition!
Officer 2: Not by me! This plan is terrible! I demand that you get sacked! I shall go and speak to Emperor Hirohito about this!
Tojo: No you wont!*unholster his samurai-sword once again*
Officer 2: Oh my leg!
Tojo: What I didn`t kill you with my first slash?
Officer 2: Nooooo
Tojo: Well take this! *Takes up his pistol and unload the whole clip in the officer*. Well back to the matter at hand!
Officer 3: I demand that you turn yourself in to the police!
Tojo: Why?
Officer 3: You can`t walk around killing people!
Tojo: Wrong!*Chops of the head of the officer with a nice slash* So how does the rest of you guys feel about my plan now?
Officer 4: It, it sound terrificly great!
Officer 5: Yes it`s pure genius!
Officer 6: Your smarter than Guderian!
Tojo: Smarter than Guderian? Smarter than Guderian! Of course Im smarter than him! You have offended my honor and now you shall!
Officer 6: What?
Tojo: Huh! Oh yes, PAY!*Slashes of the head of the officer*
Officer 1: So Il guess we should talk to the navy about these plans?
Tojo: Yes, Im on my way there now! Nothing will stop me from setting this genius idea into life! Im on my way now to talk with navy minister

As Tojo arrived at the navy ministers residence a man stopped him on the street.

Man: Hi, do you know the way to the swimming hall?
Tojo: NO! I don`t have time for this!
Man: Why are you being so rude?
Tojo: Have you thought about joining the military?
Man: The military is for idiots!
Tojo: You have offended my!
Man: Offended my?
Tojo: Hm, what was I thinking about again?
Man: Honor?
Tojo: Yeah thats right! *unholsters samurai sword and chops the man`s head off*
Tojo: That bastard! I have wasted 3 minutes!

*Tojo walks up to the house where the navy minister
Osami Nagano lives, Tojo knock on the door*

*Osami Nagano walks towards the door and open it*

Tojo: Are you ready to discuss my plan?
Osami Nagano: What plan?
Tojo: The plan we discussed!
Osami Nagano: Thats no plan! Thats idiotism!
Tojo: Idiotism this!*stabs Nagano with samurai sword*
Tojo: Hm, Il tell them to replace him with that Yamamoto, Im sure he will listen to me! Well Im off to get some Sushi!



And thats how Isoroku Yamamoto became the new navy minister of Japan.

So after eating Sushi Tojo made his way to the residence of the new navy minster of Isoroku Yamamoto.

*Tojo knocks on the door*

*Isoroku Yamamoto walk to the door and open it*

Tojo: Hi, are you ready to discuss my plan?
Isoroku Yamamoto: Well actually I was thinking about going out for some Sake.
Tojo: So you don`t have anything to do? Well then let`s sit down and discuss it now
Isoroku Yamamoto: Errrrrrr
Tojo: What?
Isoroku Yamamoto: Nothing!
Tojo: Okay then.
Isoroku Yamamoto: So tell me of the genius plan of yours.
Tojo: Well I have been thinking about invading Alaska from Japan.
Isoroku Yamamoto: But how will our navy-crews handle the cold weather? Some of them will freeze to death! It`s also possible that entire crews that entire crews will freeze to death, and then the ship will drift through the sea with no one onbard alive!
Tojo: Thats great! Then our soldiers can jump onbard for some frozen fast-food!
Isoroku Yamamoto: Ok.........
Tojo: So then will the navy be ready to perform it`s duty?
Isoroku Yamamoto: Certainly not!
*suddenly Yamamoto sees Tojo`s samurai-sword and remembers that he loves to use it as the people he have killed in the past are a proof of*
Eh forget about what I said just now, of course the navy will be ready to perform it`s duty!
Tojo: Good, good! Now I only have to convince our airforce minister to join in on this crazy invasion!
Isoroku Yamamoto: OKAY!
Tojo: Yeah! Tojos crazy plan FTW! Im gonna convince the airforce minister to join in!

*Tojo walks towards the house of the Airforce minister and knocks on the door*

Isoroku Yamamoto: Hello!
Tojo: WHAT! What are you doing here?
Isoroku Yamamoto: Well as you impaled the last Airforce minister on your samurai-sword last week, I was asked by the Emperor to take his job.
Tojo: Yes he got what he deserved after he refused to listen to my plan and started to build model-planes instead!
Isoroku Yamamoto: Errrrrr okay........
Tojo: Well lets get down to buisness then!
Isoroku Yamamoto: Yes, of course.
Tojo: I have a plan as you know.
Isoroku Yamamoto: I know, to invade Alaska from Japan right?
Tojo: Yes, but I have a question for you now regarding the plan.
Isoroku Yamamoto: Well?
Tojo: Yes I was wondering if the airforce can transport our elite-force of paratroopers to Alaska.
Isoroku Yamamoto: But, the temperaturs is freezing there! They will freeze to death before they reach the ground!
Tojo: But that is the plan you see. If we do this our army will have a really big supply of frozen fast-food on their hands, which means we don`t need as much supplies. Which again means we save money, which we can spend on my secret project.
Isoroku Yamamoto: What project?
Tojo: My genius project to splice Ice Bear DNA with Pinguin DNA! This glorius new species will become the ultimate predator! Just as effective in water as on land!
Isoroku Yamamoto: But what about our project to splice your DNA with Monkey DNA in order to create the perfect madman?
Tojo: Muhahahah, we`l finish that one later!
Isoroku Yamamoto: Is there somthing else?
Tojo: Yes, make sure the paratroopers get 100kg of rice and 100kg of Duck meat sent home to them, we don`t want our flying meatbags to lose weight do we?
Isoroku Yamamoto: No, you idot.
Tojo: What?
Isoroku Yamamoto: I said I think it`s time for some Sake.
