You know you could at lest have referenced the Church authorities ongoing battle against secular music finding its way into the liturgy, or a host of other arguments, to contest my statements.

The amount of musicological research which goes into every performance of EO is mindboggling...and it is historically correct, since it is a men's choir (and religious music of the time was sung by male choirs, mostly composed of either monks or deacons).
