It's been bugging me lately...why was the decision made to change the demesne limit multiplier from stewardship to intrigue? I mean...stewardship seems to be the logical choice for the determining factor...

I just don't get it, stewardship, while still having a function, has been somewhat castrated, while intrigue has been given dominion over an area that IMO it has zip to do with.

So...barring the extremely slight chance that the devs see this and suddenly decide on the basis of one thread to change back...can it done privately through modding?

Thanks,
-Wicked

it has been done, for gamebalance reasons. In earlier patches you just had to focus on high stewardship and you had it all, a large demesne and big armies. And intrigue was almost useless

Together with the changes made to martial and diplomacy, things are much more balanced. Focusing just on stewardship doesn't bring that much anymore, though it still is important. Since army size depends on the richness of a province and the stewardship has the greatest positive effect on the richness of a province.

You might not be able to control that many province, but you might still have a bigger army in total (as an example 4 provinces who field 16.000 men is better then 8 provinces fielding 10.000 men)

It is hardcoded and can't be changed through modding
