I was looking at Burgundy last night trying to form France. I think a problem might be that

Code:
	date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1419 }
	offset = 30

will only allow it to fire in 1419, and that startdate and enddate are needed to allow the offset to take effect.

Also, in the copy leaders.fra I had the

Code:
        startdate = {

was missing. I'm sure thats already corrected though.

Interesting. I had THOUGHT that the date + offset meant that it would occur in any 30 day period after 1419 once the triggers were met. I will include what I thought to be superfluous deathdate. Awesome.

Probelms with Cordoba.

6: Speaking of technology, the transition to Latin technology has been removed from the Iberian culture event, and is still commmented out of the "The Fall of Boabdil" event. Was that removal intentional? I suppose if the new intent is that Cordoba can only gain Latin in 1640 if they go the no-Malwas route could make sense, but then why remove Latin in 1590 when Cordoba has no means of aquring it?
QUOTE]

Remember, Cordoba starts the game with Latin tech. I think that the reference to it in other Cordoban events must have been there from an earlier version of the file.

And note that the line is not part of the event because of the #

#command = { type = technology which = latin }

Hi,
I have had the time to make many of the bugfixes and upload a new, corrected version.

Note that I have only been able to parse the material, not final-test it by running the game.

Also includes a few new events that I was working on.

Yeah Eopchal Galu needs to be removed from the scenario/event targeter.

Also there are a lot of ID conflicts for the little Irish countries, and the Navarese Monarch for France does not have a month or day in its death or birth date and this causes a CTD

Sorry about the Epochal Gaul thing.

You see, once I post the latest beta I start work on the next and often I end up making administrative changes, like the names of files. And I forgot that I had removed Ephochal Gaul and replaced it with Province Religions.

So, I am about to upload again with the Navarese monarch thing fixed and the Eire revolters and also Henri as a leader fixed. I think.

The problem is that you are using a game from the previous beta 5 imported into my revised version, and the game is looking for that file. To make it easier, I will include an empty Epochal Gaul file in this latest little upload.

I also added Guyenne to the list of countries that can form France along with the its monarchs, leaders etc.

Correct many of the French events that had incorrect tags and leader ids.

Just to remind everyone about my current situation and the information I posted back when I uploaded the original Beta 5.

I am continuing to travel with an infant, visiting family, and my travels do not conclude until the middle of January.

Until that time I was supposed to be on a hiatus from Aberration, but have still logged on at internet cafes, corrected glaring errors and uploaded improved versions.

I have no computer at present and can only work on material when at said cafe, for about 1/2 an hour max every few days. Considering how long writing and proffing material takes, this is almost nothing at all. My computer will now also sadly not be ready mid-January. It came back with a new screen, burner and battery, but would not actually turn on. :confused: :mad: Accordingly, its off to a better fix-it shop and will be a few more weeks.

I still hold by my original promise to upload Beta 6, with more new material (Tlemscen, Swabia, Brittany, more French minors, revisted Mutazlelism etc) in early February.

Right now my priority is to work on all the errors Aegnor found (praise be Aegnor) and upload that before then writing up the above material.

Thanks all,

Matty

I'm playing as the Caliphate and so far they rock my socks. So in about 1465-70 the Order of the Cresecent rebels from Albania (who happen to own most of Asia Minor). Within 6 months events events 533201-533204 all fire, costing the Order something like 900 ducats, bankrupting them, and propelling them 2 land tech levels. It seems to me that isn't how it's supposed to happen. There should be some delay right?

Also I had conflict with the events starting with 534300. For example, expelling the Kingdom of Jerusalem I received two different events asking what to do with the Christians of Jerusalem (to expel them or to live in peace). One is 534306 but I can't find the other. With several of the other territories I had multiple events changing their cultures and religions back to Sunni and Arabic.

In other news, it's been tons of fun. No one is the middle east can stand up to me, but Hungary is scary as hell owning (as of 1500) what would normally be Austria, Bohemia, Poland, Lithuania, the Balkans, Moldovia, most of Bavaria, and a large part of the Teutonic Order. Basically everything between Danzig and Lorraine. They're freaking monsters. Maybe the Reformation will put a stop to that?

This one was an experiment. Sadly, offset does not really work as advertised. It is supposed to be a random date within the offset period (which for those events was about 20 years. Mostly offset events seen to trigger in the first few months. I am trying to work out a way to do it differently, but because the events could happen within a 240 year period, I am reluctant to use Land tech as a guage. I'm giving it more thought. Thanks for the big heads up.

I actually caught this one myself just yesterday. Incompetant had ALSO written an event about Jerusalem into the KoJ file, which I was editing for errors. I have now made it that this generic muslim capture of Jerusalem event cannot happen for the Caliphate, which has a tailed-made version. Thanks all the same.

Unlikely! Yes, Hungary can become a beast, but not as often as some countries, like Brittany, (original) Burgundy and Bavaria. Hungary has is sweet early on with some good leaders and if events fall well for them, they can blossom. But that is true of most countries, one of the features of Aberration and why we love it so much. I note with glee that ALBANIA was a biggie until they had the big revolt. Go Aberration minors!!!

Thanks for your compliments. The Caliphate is one we are pretty proud of, with excellent work from Calipah and I, and even more events planned for it for the next beta.

And if Hungary interests you, its one of many countries that is yet to be refitted for Aberration II. Always looking for more contributors ... :rolleyes:

I'll try to keep notes on when crazy stuff happens. But, yeah, Albania allied with Georgia and Byzantium and Georgia is like 6 provinces and Albania still owns like 5. They're next on my hit list though. Filthy Europeans, stay off my continent!

Is there a to-do list or something? Southeast Asia and Africa are not abberated at all, are they? Are there any countries that nobody ever plays that need to be playtested?

For the Order, is the purpose of the 533200+ events to change its tech to keep it from getting too powerful? Could you use countrysize as an indicator instead of time? Like if it reaches countrysize 8 or so it loses orthodox tech.

Also, even though in my case the Order revolted away from the Christians, I still chose to support them by giving them money and inviting them to my alliance. Maybe some events to acknowledge the rise of this new Muslim power and my support for them, like events where I can give them troops and cede them territories in Asia Minor.

Also, might a country like Teke or Candar be given an event to become the Order of the Crescent on their own. Make it like a C choice so only a human would ever pick it. They must be in an alliance with the Caliphate or something and own certain territories. Or does this go against Abe's concept of the middle east?

PS I'm playing hard/aggressive. Does Abe play better on certain settings, like very hard/coward?

Im currently working on Africa and soon to follow the Persian/Central Asia sphere.Were working on creating a sort of new order in Africa , read about it the African theater.I sent several events for Matty to code.

Also, even though in my case the Order revolted away from the Christians, I still chose to support them by giving them money and inviting them to my alliance. Maybe some events to acknowledge the rise of this new Muslim power and my support for them, like events where I can give them troops and cede them territories in Asia Minor.

Well the Order is supposed to be "made" by the Caliphate - surta like the Knights of Templar.However, the idea of creating a Muslim Turkish State which is permenant may demand us to mold something new- Im thinking Seljuks or Sultanate of Rum.
