i think tuscany wouldn't want in a crusade with a strong alliance of the pape.

Which events are you referring to? The Sicilian events?

The only way to prevent conversions is to have events that reverse them.

And if the states are Muslim, why would they be converting?

Why only the algerian provinces?
in my game with sicily, the 2 pagan algerian provinces became muslim when I conquered them.
and they became again muslim just after i convert them :wacko:
to try to prevent it, in my reload, i create an algerian and catholic vassal ( :cool: ) as soon as the province was converted, but the province became muslim.
why this province should stay muslim ?
The -500 war score means that its uber peaceful. It's 'clock' for going to war starts at -500 points and it DoWs when it gets to 100 (or maybe more). It isn't properly understood and Johan won't explain. But a low warscore means its peaceful.
and with not war = 0 as default ? :eek:
in vanilla it works "very well".

and come on... a peaceful golden horde :rofl:

IRL I totally agree with that point but ingame this immediately stop the war...

I just report it from franco forum ;)

I found the event involved : The Tlemcen Event after id = 704020

Code:
event = {
	id = 704020
	random = no
	province = 735
	name = "The Movement of Salaf Qatiba"
	desc = "In the early part of the 15th century, a Berber cheif of the Zurufan tribe, Salaf Qatiba, was returning from a pilgrimage to Mecca. He broke his journey in Tunis, searching for a teacher who would accompany him for his intended missionary work amongst the Berbers of the Sahara, who were Muslim in name only. He found his man in Abdullah of Maurqa, a professor of theology and law, known for his learning and piety. Soon after their arrival among the Berber, they set themselves ardently to the task. They built a monastery in Constantine and ministered to the Muslims south of the 'civilized' lands. Many Berbers who were still pagan, and those who had passing aquintance with Islam came under the spell of the new teachers. The 'Mujadidun' emerged as upholders of a simple and ascetic Islam. There was simply no place for music, no value for poetry, and no room for philosophy in their approach to Islam."
	date = { day = 11 month = october year = 1424 }
	offset = 1000
	deathdate = { day = 11 month = december year = 1427 }

	action_a = {
		name = "Salaf Qatiba has brought the word to the pagans!"
		command = { type = provincereligion which = 735 value = sunni }
		command = { type = provinceculture which = 735 value = berber }
	}
}

We can maybe add country = NAF or a trigger religion = sunni or chiite

Hey everyone, I am back. After a long time with out internet I can finally get back on consistantly and should contribute again. I downloaded the most resent version and was playing the caliphate today. Must say I like most of the changes so far, but then I got to may 1st in 1550 when an event fired called miracles of ayatallah hussien which seemed to be a flavor event till I got to the bottom...
It gave me a +12 RR for 129 Months... umm this has to be a bug.

Edit: looked at the event file and the events seems to be fine

event = {
id = 532176
random = no
country = CAL
trigger = { event = 532170 }
name = "The Miracles of Ayatollah Hussien"
desc = "EVENTHIST3312"
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1550 }
offset = 700
deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1551 }

action_a ={
name = "A Great Man!"
command = { type = vp value = 20 }
command = { type = infra value = 200 }
command = { type = revoltrisk which = -3 value = 12 }
}
}

Unforcantly I don't have a recent save... Had to quit the game too, just did not feel like putting up with that much RR for so long.

Glad to read that you are back. I look forward to any and all contributions you can make.

Thanks for this bug. The values are reversed. It's giving you +12 RR for eternity instead of -3 RR for 12 months (a period of calm and mourning following his death.) . Changed for 6.18.

Now I get you. Before I never thought it possible a non-Muslim country would own those provinces so early in the game. But would the very-recent ownership by Sicily really prevent this religious change? The events were actually intended as flavour events. The provinces were originally sunni at game start, but Calipah and I wanted to be able to reveal the origins of the Mujadidun movement that can become a major part of the Tlemcen-Almujadid storyline. The events are just the end point of Salif Quaitaba's work among the Berbers. If anything, I think that Christian ownership and dominance would advance the process, rather than deter it. Your thoughts?

As for Tuscany, I do realise that inheritance commands end a war, and that's kinda sucky. Nothing I can do about that one, its built into the game. But it has some realism to it. If Tuscany received an offer from one of the European major powers and it joined with them under their protection, wouldn't their aggressors back off? Let's say you are playing Genoa and are trying to sack Tuscany, when you hear of the deal where they join the powerful and wealthy Hansa, I think you'd think twice about staying at war, because now you'd also be at war with the Hansa. And if that's something you don't mind, then DoW again! :)

Playing scotland today, I looked though the event file and the inheritance event for york is broken.

event = {
id = 400101
random = no
country = SCO
trigger = { }
name = "Henry I Marries Elizabth of Northumberland, the Duchess of York"
desc = "With the death of the last Percy, Joscelin, the nearest relative is Elizabeth of Northumberland, unmarried and uncertain of the loyalty of the York nobles. She has offered a marriage to Henry I of Scotland to resolve the crisis and our two realms are united."

action_a = {
name = "Excellent"
command = { type = inherit which = YOR }
command = { type = stability value = 1 }
command = { type = addcore which = 241 }
command = { type = addcore which = 245 }
command = { type = addcore which = 242 }
}
}
Note there is no trigger or date, so it will never fire. That way scotland will never inherit York.

Problem:
Caliphate events 532020, 532025, 532030, 532040, 532060, 532070, 532103, 532110, and 532192 have broken triggers and or commands due to shortened event IDs (example command = { type = sleepevent which = 41 }).

Solution:
Guess what events the broken triggers and commands are supposed to point to.

The Hansa should continue the war of Tuscany.
If an army controls Tuscany, do you think that this army will stop it, if Tuscany joins an other country ?
of course not!

it's a problem of gameplay now, because of the gameplay, it's not realistic: The Hansa couldn't defend Tuscany in this case, but The Hansa couldn't loose it :wacko:

As I said above, those province in the Atlas mountains normally would have been Berber and Sunni at game start. We only changed it to pagan to make the most FLAVOUR for the event. Remember that these two events are not the start of Quaitaba's missionay work there, but the end of it. He's been there for a long time (since about the 1390s) and the events are the culmination of his work.

Basically, if the events irk people, those provinces will start the game sunni, and the two events will remain, but have simply vp = 1 as the command, because there is no way that these provinces will be pagans that can be permitted to be converted to Sicilian culture and Catholic in 1420.

I agree on the Tuscany thing. I have rebuilt the sequence, such that if they are at war with Genoa or Sicily, it triggers different events where Hansa has the opportunity to still inherit them, but it places them immediately at war with Genoa/Sicily.

Well, thats what's supposed to happen....even if your Mutazelite, these regions remaine Sunni and for good reason, being entrenched in the mountains and deep in the Sahara, and influenced strongly by Islam and a prequisite to the Mujadid movement, whats the point of letting anyone convert them? :D

The event is a triggered event from the York file. However, in checking it, I noticed that the trigger command triggers the wrong event. York event 406112 now triggers 400101 instead of 400140.

Thanks for this.

Baden_BAD.txt, Bohemia_BOH.txt and Koln_KOL.txt are not in events.txt

The events that are supposed to let the Caliphate inherit Kurdistan - 532012 - use the tag KUR. It's actually u23.

The jihad events 532250 and 532251 will probably be triggered in the same war, which seems rather strange. Also, since it uses the same asking for help events 532252-532254, they won't work the second time.

In the Il-Khanate events: The events 600150-600153 sleep events in the 60014x range, so all three duel outcomes happen.

That's embarrasing. Added all the event files.

Someone earlier noted the Kurdistan tag issues, but thanks all the same.

Gave each of the Jihad events a different time frame.

Altered the sleepevents in the Il-Khanate events you mentioned.

All in for 6.18.

Thanks again idon't for your careful playtesting and checking!
