Welcome back! A week without Calpiah on the forums is a quiet and lonely week.

Yes, Varanasi events had an error: province 533 instead of 553. Silly me.

Samaria (Jerusalem) has the events giving it an FAA and province_revoltrisk of +2. That was the compromise between the No FAA and the FAA sides of the vote.

Just had a CoT. I'm playing as Languedoc-turned-Occitania and its around 1521. I just recieved a 'historical' leader and as I clicked on his unit to check out his states the game crashed. I'll see if I can figure out the exact date/name... I just saved after diploannexing Navarra (I'm prepping for a Reformed Empire in the South of France and North of Spain)

Here we go on reloading I recieve the following message: "Critical error! ---Attempting to create a leader with a leader-id(30137( that is already used."

If I ignore the error I can continue to play, it is 1522 immediately before the Reformation.

Thanks, the error isn't associated with Occitania or Languedoc. Purely a chance of the timing.

I had neglected in the recent work on Brittany to make the Explorers and Conquistadors dormant, awaiting events to waken them. So, the game tries to create duplicates when the appropriate event triggers.

Corrected for 6.15 and thanks very much.

No worries, just had another CTD a moment ago. It's 1537 and I'm happily awaiting level 4 Infastructure... Perhaps the deathdate of the duplicate leader, dying twice?

Likely another of the Brittany explorers/conquistadors coming to life a second time.

Edit the savegame file. Go to the section for Brittany. Past all the province and alliance stuff and COT stuff to where each country has its stuff. tag = BRI etc etc. Scroll down to where all the monarchs and leaders are and simply delete all of the EXPLORERS and CONQUISTADORS.

Or endure the many who will appear and make the game crash. Sorry!

That's interesting. After the UoK denies my right to Sjaelland, I lose my core on it, and never get it back. You must be starting and ending your war immediately.

The core should come back when you win the Sund Crisis. As follows. I will send the editted file to MattyG:

1. Hansa and Kalmar start with a core on Sjaelland.

2. If Kalmar reject Hansa's 1419 overtures for Sjaelland, then Hansa lose the core.

3. In the 1430's after the tortuous political wrangling over shipping taxation through the Sund, Hasa get a CB on Kalmar.

4. By 1460 they have won it (or not), regain the core, and heaps of other goodies.

This is the most important event "The Caliphate of al-Andalus" event which hasnt been properlly texted (Seems I forgot to add it when I sent u the email) could u replace the current one with this Matty?

Mu'tazilism's rationalism was appealing to the learned classes of the time, as was its stance on Free Will, and its perceived opposition to the rival theologies. However, being elitist in nature, it never gained ground with the masses, and its adoption by the rulers and the subsequent antipathy it espoused against Sunni Scholars made it appeal even less to the public. In the middle of the 16th century, Abu Kamal of Valencia, the reknowned Muslim astronomer and noble, embarked on an ambitious plan to make the Mu'tazali more popular amongst the general population, by funding, with the collective support of the Sultan and aristocracy, the construction of the magnificent university of al-Tawheed (Monotheism) in Cordoba to spread the logical testements of the Mutazelites throughout al-Andalus.En-Mass conversions soon followed, becoming a common feature of the religious theater in Muslim Spain , most out of sheer conviction, others for material gain, changing one religion for the next as their lords and masters demanded. This 'rift' from the ministry of the Abbasids in the east went generally unopposed, and it only seemed natural for the Sultan to claim the title of 'Caliph' - though his religios dominion was, admitingly ,only on a miniscule part of the Muslim World. None the less, the Caliphate of Al-Andalus(Spain), Ifriqya(Africa) and Firanja (France) was born, and the last ties with Baghdad were severed - forever. The Muslim West would henceforth dictate it's own destiny - be it politicaly or spiritualy - independently from the East. As they say 'La Galiba Illa Allah thuma al-Mutazila' - No Victor but God and then the Mutazelites.

Actually, Ive been meaning to ask you Mikl - is the the Expansion of the Holy Roman Empire and the New Pope events suppose to fire for everyone?I mean...they make sense for Catholics, but why should Muslims, Hindus, Confucists, and whatever care? :D

Also, the events I assume you added for Baden, Koln and a few other nations, the 'League of Augsburg' - will u change the text?they refer to events that havent occured in the Interegnum world, or are they just momentary?

For the first query, the answer is that events can only fire for a single nation, a single province (for the nation that owns it), or for everyone in the game. You're already familiar with this with the Protestant and Treaty of Tordesillas type events. Tedious and irrelevant, but we can't get around it.

I'm just curious, why does Brittany start with a core on Langdeuc?

First up, this is not a bug, so please post questions like this in a thread, new or existing.

Part of the Interregnum history. For more details visit the France thread (you can link there easily via the sticky on Vision, Status etc).

In short, the Duke of Maine married into the King of Brittany's family. He had a claim on Languedoc when the duke there died. The King of France refused to back his claim against a claimant backed by the King of Savoy (not wanting a conflict with Savoy). It effectively precipitated the Salic War and the collapse of France. Later, the duke of Maine dies and Maine gets absorbed by Brittany and carries with it the claim on Languedoc. Eventually Brittany gets an event where it has to chose to maintain that core or concede it for good. The ai will almost always give it up, unless it owns it, but players can do as pleased, of course.

When I tried Papal States, none of their events seemed to fire.

Because I forgot to add Papal_State_PAP.txt to the list of files the event reader needs to read, because I was sloppy and though it must surely already be there.

Ooops.

In for 6.15.

Perhaps the event could have a religion = catholic trigger.

Playing as Byzantium (again, more peaceful this time), at war with Hungary and a few minors, trying to hold my own as my allies are run over (Ukraine--the one who decided to DoW big bad Hungary). While rebuilding my forces, and reclaiming my Slavonic lands Constantinople falls. An event fires: The Sack of Constantiople... I can chose to lose my manu and gain 1000 or do nothing and gain 100.. I take the cash grab, and then another event fires which subtracts population and taxvalue from Constantiople... I have a feeling the First event should have fired for Hungary not me..
