I have a lot of friends that ask me all the time, why do I stay here? Do I miss PR? My answer is, there a different style of living over here, so much to see and do and it is a unique opportunity. I got over here as a 23 year single soldier, now I have been living in Europe for 30 years (27 in Germany and 3 in Italy), so my family is here. I used to tell Soldiers when they complaint about going back to the states because they couldn't get adjusted to being here to think about this: Who much money a US tourist would pay just for a two weeks vacation in Europe? I told them you travel expense, accomodations and meals are cover, you only need to travel. Tell me where in the USA you can get in your car and say drive for 8 hours and visti countries that speak other language?.... i always try to get my soldiers to look at the bright side of the current situation.
I just love it here.
